NORMAN — With day one in the books, University of Oklahoma gymnast Levi Anderson and Team USA lead the field at the World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan.
Team USA posted a 242.325 score in the Subdivision 2 qualifying round and registered first-place finishes on four of the six events. The squad also placed second on the pommel horse and vault.
Individually, Anderson finished the day with a score of 78.750 in the all-around, the second-best finish on the team and good for seventh overall. Anderson's best mark came on the vault, where the junior posted a score of 13.800.
The team will return to action Tuesday in the all-around final beginning at 1 a.m. CT.
