NOTES AND NUMBERS FOR MEET 13

WIN AND ADVANCE
On Saturday, the Sooners will look to continue their NCAA Regional success under head coach K.J. Kindler. Since 2010, the Sooners own seven consecutive regional championships and 26 individual event championships. In the 2017 NCAA Seattle Regional, the Sooners will face No. 12 Kentucky, No. 13 Washington, No. 24 Utah State, Stanford and BYU. With a top-two finish, the Sooners would advance to their 14th straight NCAA Championships.

2016 REGIONAL RECAP
Last year, OU captured the NCAA Iowa City Regional title with a 197.575. The Sooners posted the top team score on all four events and secured at least a share of all the individual titles. Chayse Capps won the all-around honor (39.550) and vault title (9.9) while sharing the beam crown with teammates Natalie Brown and Nicole Lehrmann (9.9). McKenzie Wofford claimed the bars accolade (9.95), while AJ Jackson tied for top honors on floor (9.9).

QUEENS OF THE HILL
For the third consecutive season, Oklahoma is the nation's No. 1 overall seed heading into NCAA competition. The Sooners hold a program-record 198.010 regional qualifying score (RQS). OU began its 2017 campaign as the top team in the preseason rankings, and after dropping to the second spot after the first weekend of competition, the Sooners quickly regained first place the following week and have remained there every week since. This is the sixth straight season the Sooners have finished within the top two of the regular season national rankings based on regional qualifying score.

ALL-AMERICA STATUS
Six Sooners earned a nation-best 14 regular season All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) last week. In the five years that regular season All-America accolades have been awarded, Oklahoma has totaled double-digit honors four times. Seniors Chayse Capps and McKenzie Wofford, junior AJ Jackson, sophomores Brenna Dowell and Nicole Lehrmann and freshman Maggie Nichols all earned awards. Nichols secured five first-team honors, the only gymnast in the nation to earn recognition on all four events and in the all-around.

UNDEFEATED
With a win at No. 17 California on March 12, the Sooners finished the regular season with a perfect 15-0 overall record, their fifth undefeated regular season under K.J. Kindler (2008, 2010, 2011, 2015, 2017). OU now holds a 18-0 record following the Big 12 Championship. Dating back to the 2016 season, the Sooners have picked up 56 straight wins, including 43 consecutive victories on the road.

HISTORY VS. REGIONAL TEAMS
Of its five opponents in the 2017 NCAA Seattle Regional field, Oklahoma holds an all-time winning record against each. The Sooners are a combined 40-18 against teams in the field, and lead the series with Kentucky (6-0), Washington (10-4), Utah State (7-3), Stanford (11-9) and BYU (6-2).

IN GOOD COMPANY
OU is one of only five teams in the nation to advance to the NCAA Championships every season since 2004, along with Alabama, Florida, LSU and Utah. OU will try to extend that streak with a top-two finish in Saturday's Regional meet.

RETURNING REGIONAL CHAMPS
Of the Sooners on the 2017 squad, five have at least one individual regional title to their names. Senior Chayse Capps has secured four total titles (all-around in 2016, vault in 2016, beam in 2014 and 2016), while junior AJ Jackson won vault in 2015 and floor in 2016. Junior Natalie Brown and sophomore Nicole Lehrmann shared the beam title with Capps in 2016, while McKenzie Wofford claimed the bars accolade.

AAI FINALIST
Senior Chayse Capps is one of seven finalists for the prestigious AAI Award, recognizing the most outstanding senior female gymnast in the country. The award is considered one of the highest honors given in the sport of NCAA women's gymnastics. Capps is joined by six additional finalists, including Nicole Artz (Michigan), Madeline Gardiner (Oregon State), Ashleigh Gnat (LSU), Kaytianna McMillan (Oregon State), Christine Peng-Peng Lee (UCLA) and Baely Rowe (Utah). Capps is Oklahoma's sixth consecutive finalist for the award, joining Megan Ferguson (2012), Brie Olson (2013), Taylor Spears (2014), Erica Brewer (2015) and Haley Scaman (2016).

PERFECTION
In 2017, four Sooners have combined to record nine 10.0s, the most individual perfect marks in program history, surpassing four in 2015. OU is the nation's only team this season to own 10.0 routines on all four events, marking the second time in school history that the Sooners have earned 10.0s on all four apparatuses in a single season (2015). Chayse Capps (BB), Nicole Lehrmann (UB), Maggie Nichols (VT [twice], UB, BB [twice] and FX) and McKenzie Wofford (UB) have all achieved perfection this season.

ROAD WARRIORS
In recent seasons, OU has proven itself to be as successful away from Norman as at home. The 2017 road slate has been no exception as the Sooners are averaging a nation-leading 197.897 away score for eight meets. At home, OU averaged a 197.781 in its four competitions. The Sooners' top three scores have all come on the road, and OU has posted the highest road average in the nation in each of the last three seasons. Additionally, five of OU's six counting scores for RQS came in away meets.

BARS BOOM
OU's entire bars lineup is ranked within the top 18, the only program to have all six competitors ranked on one event. The Sooners hold a nation-leading 49.575 RQS on the event, while Maggie Nichols (second), McKenzie Wofford (fifth), Nicole Lehrmann (tied 12th), Brenna Dowell (tied 15th), Chayse Capps (tied 18th) and Stefani Catour (tied 18th) check in the individual standings. OU scored a program-record 49.700 on bars at TWU on Feb. 26. In the meet, Lehrmann and Wofford closed the rotation with a pair of 10.0s, the first time two Sooners have ever posted perfect scores on the same event in the same meet.
