NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma and Long Beach State baseball teams have announced a change in venue for the season-opening series between the two schools. The Sooners will host the Dirtbags for a three-game series beginning on Friday, February 17 at 4 pm at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The series was originally scheduled to be played at Long Beach's home ballpark; Blair Field. Due to a high chance of rain in Long Beach over the weekend, OU head coach Pete Hughes and LBSU head coach Troy Buckley agreed to move the series to Norman.

Games two and three of the series will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm and 11 am, respectively. Admission to the ballpark for OU baseball season ticket holders is free through a check-in at the ticket office window. Additional fans looking to attend the game can purchase tickets at the gate for $5 or at SoonerSports.com. All seats for the series will be general admission. The daily temperature for each day is expected to be in the high 60s or low 70s with warm winds out of the south.

All three games will be streamed live on SoonerSports.tv and accessible with a premium subscription. Sportstalk 1400 AM and 99.3 FM will air all three games locally. The games can also be heard online and through the Sportstalk channel on the TuneIn app for mobile devices.

The change in venue means the Sooners open the 2017 campaign with 19 consecutive games played at their home park before hitting the road in mid-March. Oklahoma's originally scheduled home opener is Tuesday, February 21 against Grambling State.

Tickets for all games after opening weekend can be purchased at SoonerSports.com or by calling the athletic ticket office at 800-456-GoOU.
