WEDNESDAY'S GAME BASICS

No. 20/20 Oklahoma (15-5, 6-2 Big 12) goes for its eighth straight home win when it hosts Kansas (7-14, 1-9 Big 12) on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. CT at Lloyd Noble Center for Sooner Jr. Fan Field Trip Day. The Sooners, who are 11-1 at home this season and boast a +14.7 average scoring margin in those 12 contests, look to bounce back from their road loss to No. 2 Baylor. Kansas enters Wednesday's game after snapping a 27-game regular season losing streak in Big 12 play by topping Texas Tech, 66-60, on Saturday in Lawrence, Kan. The Jayhawks are 1-7 in true road games this year.

Sunday's game will be televised on ESPN2 with Pam Ward and Gail Goestenkors on the call. The game will also be streamed live on the WatchESPN app. The contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network with Brian Brinkley calling the action.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Oklahoma is 36-30 all-time against Kansas and is 16-11 versus the Jayhawks in Norman. Head coach Sherri Coale is 22-6 against the Jayhawks and has won 19 out of the last 22 meetings with Kansas dating back to 2000. The Sooners opened their Big 12 slate on Dec. 29 with an 84-54 victory over the Jayhawks.

• Wednesday's game features a 10:30 a.m. tip-off as OU hosts the third annual Sooner Jr. Fan Field Trip Day at Lloyd Noble Center. Over 8,000 third through sixth graders from across the state of Oklahoma will be in attendance for an educational day complete with hands on exposure to Division I women's basketball. The Sooners defeated Texas Tech, 92-53, in last year's Field Trip Day game.

• During OU's five home Big 12 games, Peyton Little and Maddie Manning are both averaging over 15.0 points per game against league foes. Manning leads the team with 15.8 points per game, while adding in 6.0 rebounds against Big 12 teams at Lloyd Noble Center this season. Little averages 15.4 points a contest versus conference foes at home and is shooting .393 from 3-point range.

• Oklahoma and Kansas are the top two teams in the Big 12 in steals per game. OU leads the league with 9.8 steals per contest, while the Jayhawks are second with 9.2 swipes a game.

• The Sooners are not short on experience this season. Entering Sunday's game, OU's roster boasts 361 career starts among 10 players who have made at least one career appearance in the Sooners' starting five. The foursome of Gioya Carter, Peyton Little, Maddie Manning and Gabbi Ortiz have combined to make 292 starts between them. OU's bench is laden with experience, including T'ona Edwards and Vionise Pierre-Louis who have played in 117 and 85 career games, respectively.

GAME 22 RECAP: BAYLOR

• No. 20/20 Oklahoma started strong, but could not overcome No. 2 Baylor's shooting performance as the Sooners fell, 92-58, on Sunday at Ferrell Center. OU grabbed a 20-15 lead after the first quarter by knocking down three early treys from Peyton Little and Gabbi Ortiz. The Sooners were the first team to lead Baylor after the opening frame since the Lady Bears faced Connecticut earlier this season.

• Baylor used a 15-0 run to begin the second quarter to grab the lead from the Sooners. The Lady Bears finished with a .500 field goal percentage and combined to shoot .628 from the floor in the second and third quarters.

• Little led the Sooners with 15 points on 5-of-17 shooting and tied her career high with five steals, while Maddie Manning finished with near double-double, adding 11 points and nine rebounds. Ortiz added in 10 points and 10 rebounds to earn her second career double-double. Vionise Pierre-Louis also finished in double figures with 10 points and pulled down six rebounds off the bench.

PREVIEWING KANSAS

• Kansas, who snapped its 27-game Big 12 regular-season losing streak with a win over Texas Tech, enters Wednesday's game with a 7-14 overall record and a 1-9 mark in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks are 1-7 in true road games this year. Kansas averages 62.5 points per game (ranks tenth in the Big 12) on .337 field goal shooting (10th), .293 3-point shooting (10th) and .640 free throw shooting (10th). KU is last in the league in scoring defense, allowing opponents to score 71.3 points per contest and shot . 418 from the field.

• Tulsa, Okla., native and North Carolina transfer Jessica Washington leads the Jayhawks and ranks third in the Big 12 in scoring with 16.8 points per game this season on .347 field goal and .348 3-point shooting. Against league opponents, Washington ranks first in the Big 12 with a 20.6 scoring average. She is also tied for first in Big 12 play with 2.7 3-pointers per contest.

• Redshirt sophomore guard McKenzie Calvert averages 11.4 points per game off the bench, shooting .299 from the field. Sophomore guard Kylee Kopatitch is third on the team with 9.4 points per game and adds in 5.0 rebounds per contest.

• Kansas head coach Brandon Schneider is 13-39 in his two seasons with the Jayhawks. Schneider is 1-27 against Big 12 opponents during his tenure with the Jayhawks.

Junior center Vionise Pierre-Louis has scored 10-plus points in six straight games.

WELCOME TO OUR HOUSE

• OU has flourished at home, posting a +14.7 average scoring margin in its 12 games at Lloyd Noble Center and outshooting its opponents .434 to .365 from the field, .320 to .303 from 3-point range and .751 to .672 at the free throw line. During their seven-game home winning streak, OU is scoring 80.1 points per contest at Lloyd Noble Center.

• The trio of Peyton Little, Maddie Manning and Vionise Pierre-Louis is averaging double figures in scoring on their home floor this year. Manning leads the Sooners with 14.0 points per game and is shooting .433 from the field at Lloyd Noble Center. Little is second on the team with a 12.9 scoring average, while Pierre-Louis has recorded 11.1 points and 7.8 rebounds in OU's 12 home contests.

• The Sooners have been extremely efficient at the free throw line when playing in front of their home fans, shooting .751 (181-of-241) from the foul line. OU is averaging 15.1 makes at the charity stripe at home this year. Defensively, OU has blocked 83 shots (6.9 per game) through its first 12 home matchups.

QUICK HITS

• OU is 2-0 when hosting Sooner Jr. Fan Field Trip Day at Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners defeated Texas Tech, 92-53, in last year's contest. Four Sooners scored in double figures in the victory.

• Oklahoma has won six straight regular-season Big 12 home games dating back to last season. Over the last three years, OU is 20-3 against Big 12 opponents on its home floor over the last three seasons.

• The Sooners are 11-0 this season and have won 32 straight games when posting a higher shooting percentage than their opponent. OU has also earned 27 consecutive victories (10-0 in 2016-17) when the Sooners win both the rebounding and turnover battle against their competition.

• Against Big 12 foes, Peyton Little and Maddie Manning have barely left the floor. Manning is fourth in the conference with 35.5 minutes per game against Big 12 opponents, while Little ranks fifth at 35.1 minutes a contest.

• A trio of Sooners hit at least three 3-pointers in against Iowa State on Jan. 25. Gabbi Ortiz led the Sooners with four treys, while Maddie Manning and Peyton Little buried three triples. It was the first time since March 3, 2014 vs. Texas Tech that three OU players sank at least 3-pointers apiece.

• At Texas on Jan. 19, the Sooners knocked down 18 straight free throws to conclude the game against the Longhorns. OU's .947 free throw percentage set a season high. The 18 consecutive free throws made tied a school record and are the most against a Big 12 opponent in school history. OU ranks 13th in the nation with 289 made free throws.

• Maddie Manning's 10 steals against Portland State on Dec. 21 rank are tied for the most by a Division I player in a single game this season and the most by an OU player in one game since 1996.

• The Sooners have been ranked in the AP Poll for 35 consecutive weeks (tied for the 10th-longest active streak in the country). OU has been ranked in the AP poll 255 times under Sherri Coale.

UP NEXT

The Sooners head to Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday for the final Bedlam matchup of the regular season against Oklahoma State. OU won the previous meeting, 68-62, in Norman on Jan. 22.
