MADRID, Spain –  Oklahoma women's basketball kicked off its foreign tour with a 75-65 victory over Olimpico 64 Friday night in Madrid, Spain.

T'ona Edwards, Peyton Little, Gabbi Ortiz and Derica Wyatt all chip in nine points apiece to lead the Sooners. Wyatt sparked the OU offense in the first half, burying three triples early in the game. Edwards tallied a team-high six assists while Ortiz recorded six rebounds and a steal.

Gileysa Penzo finished with eight points off the bench, while her defensive play early in the third quarter allowed the Sooners to play in transition. Vionise Pierre-Louis pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds and also added in four assists, while finishing with four points.

The Sooners jumped out to an early lead after a pair of threes from Wyatt in the opening frame as OU finished 5-of-10 from beyond the arc in the first half. OU posted a .563 shooting percentage in the opening quarter, while holding Olimpico 64 to a .316 clip.

The Sooners were efficient offensively by shooting .438 in the first two quarters, knocking down five triples.

In the second and third quarters, OU's defense held Olimpico to just 17 points and five made field goals as the Sooners continued to maintain their double-digit lead throughout much of the second half.

OU dominated scoring in the paint, finishing with a 34-8 advantage. The Sooners scored 16 fastbreak points in the victory while the bench outscored the starting five, finishing with 44 points. OU finished the game 28-of-64 (.438) from the field and 7-of-20 (.350) from 3-point range.

The Sooners return to action on Monday as they travel to Valencia to face off against Valenciano Combinado at 7 p.m. local time (noon CT). Live stats for the game will be available here.
