Legendre Takes Bronze on Floor at Osijek

Competition at Grand Prix Osijek Comes to Close

Osijek, Croatia – University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics assistant coach Steven Legendre finished off his week at the Grand Prix Osijek with a seventh place finish on vault Sunday.

Legendre, an alternate for Team USA at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took home the bronze medal on floor Saturday and also placed eighth on rings. The Sooners' first-year assistant is competing internationally to ramp up for his run at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Legendre scored 14.450 on vault on Sunday. The 6-time NCAA champion and Nissen-Emery Award winner qualified for event finals on three events (floor, rings, vault) at the competition.

In addition to Legendre, fellow Team USA teammates Paul Ruggeri and Sean Melton were in competition on Sunday. Ruggeri took the silver medal on high bar and vault while Melton secured the bronze on parallel bars. In total, the Team USA trio won five medals over the weekend.
