Notes:

  • Oklahoma played its fifth doubleheader of the season and second in conference play and now owns a record of 3-7 in doubleheaders.
  • The Sooners started three freshmen in game one; marking the 28th time in the last 31 games and 29th overall that OU has started three freshmen or more.
  • Alex Wise hit leadoff for the ninth and 10th times this season and Sheldon Neuse hit clean-up for the eighth and ninth times.
  • Wise picked up his team-leading seventh outfield assist of the season.
  • Neuse hit his team-leading seventh and eighth home runs in game two to push his career total to 21. He became the first Sooner since Max White (2010-13) with 20 or more home runs in a career.
  • Oklahoma is 9-6-1 when scoring in the first inning and 11-8-1 when scoring first. The Sooners are also 6-13-1 when the opponent scores in the first.
  • Steele Walker recorded his 10th multi-hit and third three-hit game of the season.
  • Walker lined his team-leading 13th double of the season. He is tied for sixth at OU for doubles by a freshman with Max White (2010) and Tommy Whiteman (1999).
  • Jack Flansburg notched his eighth multi-hit game of the season and Ben Hollas notched his fifth.
  • Domenic DeRenzo threw out two baserunners in the doubleheader to push his season total to 11.
  • In game two, DeRenzo hit a pair of home runs to lift his total to six, four of which have come in the last four games. He is the first Sooner to go yard twice in a game since Hunter Haley (4/10/16). Fourteen of his 20 hits this season have gone for extra bases.
  • Sooner pitchers matched a season-low for strikeouts in game one with two. They previously struck out just two against Northeastern (2/19/16) on opening day.
  • Oklahoma totaled four home run in game two to match its season-high having previously hit four against Baylor (4/10/16).
  • Cody Thomas came off the bench to tally his fourth multi-hit game of the season in the nightcap. He is hitting .444 (8-for-18) since April 12.
