NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma women's tennis team topped Kansas State, 4-2, on the road Sunday to end the regular season. The victory snapped a six-match losing streak for OU, which dated back to March 20.

The Sooners (8-13, 3-6 Big 12) began the day by dropping the doubles point to the Wildcats (10-13, 1-8 Big 12), but rallied with four singles wins to claim the match.

"I am happy for the team that their recent run of great performances ended with a win," Oklahoma head coach Dave Mullins said after the win. "They played some good tennis in some very difficult conditions and Mimi [Fotopoulos] did well to close out the fourth point."

In doubles, sophomore Malene Stripp and junior Mimi Fotopoulos fell, 6-1, on court three to K-State's Livia Cirnu and Carolina Costamagna. The Wildcats' Sara Castellano and Palma Juhasz defeated OU's sophomore duo of Christiana Brigante and Simran Sethi, 6-4, to clinch the point.

Oklahoma senior Emma Devine opened up singles play with a win on court two over K-State's Ana Garcia Navas, 6-3, 6-4, to give the Sooners momentum. OU's Brigante grabbed a straight-set victory at the No. 5 position, 6-4, 6-1, over Iva Bago to give OU a 2-1 lead.

The Wildcats evened the score at the No. 6 line when Stripp fell, 6-4, 6-1, to K-State's Cirnu.

The Sooners rolled off two more victories at the top of the lineup to seal the win. On court one, sophomore Lily Miyazaki cruised to victory with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Castellano to put OU up 3-2.

The clinching point for the Sooners came on court three as Prairie Village, Kan., native Fotopoulos grabbed a straight-set win, 6-2, 6-4, over K-State's Millie Sretton.

The Big 12 Conference Championships begin Thursday at 10 a.m. in Stillwater, Okla. No. 7 Oklahoma will face No. 10 West Virginia at 10 a.m. Thursday in the opening round.
