Notes:

  • The Sooners started three freshmen; marking the 26th time in the last 29 games and 27th overall that OU has started three freshmen or more.
  • Alex Wise hit leadoff for the seventh time this season.
  • Wise hit his team-leading 12th double and first triple of the season in his 14th multi-hit game of the year.
  • Hunter Southerland started in left field for his first start since April 2 against Texas.
  • Southerland hit his first career home run with a solo shot to lead off the fourth.
  • Catcher Domenic DeRenzo has thrown out three base runners in the series.
  • DeRenzo hit his sixth double and third home run of the season. Eleven of his 17 hits have gone for extra bases.
  • Steele Walker hit his 11th double of the season. His 11 doubles are the ninth most on record (1993-present) for a Sooner freshman as he passed Kolbey Carpenter (2013-15).

  • Oklahoma totaled a team-high 18 hits, surpassing its previous high of 16 at CSU Bakersfield (3/19).
  • The Sooners last came from behind to win when trailing by five runs or more against BYU (2/28/15) in Las Vegas.
