- Jake Irvin struck out the side in the first and second. He has struck out the side four times this season, having last done so at Texas Tech (3/26).
- Irvin became the first Sooner to strike out five in a row since Jon Gray vs. Texas Tech (4/27/13) and first with six in a row since J.R. Robinson at Kansas (5/22/10).
