- The Sooners started three or more freshmen for the 15th time in 17 games and the 16th time overall this season. Four started, including pitcher Chris Andritsos.
- Andritsos tossed a season-high 7.2 innings; the longest start by an OU pitcher this season.
- Oklahoma last defeated Texas at home on April 5, 2008 by a score of 5-3.
- Andritsos became the first OU pitcher to defeat Texas at home since Andrew Doyle.
- Ten of Oklahoma's 13 wins have come from a freshman pitcher and 12 of 13 from a newcomer.
- Head coach Pete Hughes won his 600th game.
- Ben Hollas started in left field for his eighth of the season and first since at CSU Bakersfield (3/17).
- Jack Flansburg tied for the team-lead in home runs with his fourth of the season. He drove in a season-high three runs for his team-leading sixth multi-RBI game of the season.

- Austin O'Brien hit his second home run of the season and seventh of his career.
- Domenic DeRenzo hit his second home run of the season. Six of his nine hits this season have gone for extra bases.
- Oklahoma had zero home runs in its last five games. The three on Friday were the most in a game for the Sooners since hitting four against Purdue (3/8/15).
- The Sooners are now 6-2-1 when scoring in the first inning and 7-5-1 when scoring first.
