The senior's all-around total bested the season's previous high mark of 90.850 from Stanford's Akash Modi. Oyama now ranks second nationally in the all-around with a three-score average of 88.883, fourth on rings (15.400), ninth on parallel bars (15.083) and tied for 10th on floor (15.367).
The honor is the second of the year for Oyama, who also won conference gymnast of the week honors after he scored an 88.600 in Oklahoma's meet against then-No. 6 Nebraska.
The Sooners are back in action this weekend as they travel to Columbus, Ohio, to take on No. 3 Ohio State and No. 11 Air Force in a 4 p.m. CT meet. The meet will be streamed on OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
