NORMAN Junior McKenzie Wofford of the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team has been named the Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for the sixth time this season, the conference announced Tuesday.

On bars in OU's 197.775-195.775 victory over then-No. 18 Arizona last Friday, Wofford tallied a huge 9.975 in the anchor spot, matching her career high. The score helped the Sooners to a program-best 49.675 total on the apparatus. This season, the Sooners have now set or tied three of the top four bars marks in program history.

Wofford has scored at least a 9.9 on bars this season nine times in 11 total meets and has secured eight titles on the event. She is currently ranked No. 1 nationally for the ninth consecutive week with a RQS of 9.945.

This season, the Sooners have earned a total of 18 weekly conference accolades, with Wofford's six honors checking in as the most on the team. OU has now won at least one Big 12 award and has secured the specialist recognition each week this season.

Receiving conference recognition this week with Wofford were Denver senior Nina McGee and West Virginia freshman Kirah Koshinski, who were named the Gymnast of the Week and Newcomer of the Week, respectively.

Next up, the Sooners (19-1 overall) hit the road to close the regular season at No. 8 UCLA. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 13, in Los Angeles, Calif., and will air on the Pac-12 Network.
