SUNDAY'S GAME BASICS

No. 24/22 Oklahoma (21-9, 11-7 Big 12) plays No. 4/4 Baylor (31-1, 17-1 Big 12) in the Big 12 Championship semifinals Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. CT at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Sunday's contest marks the first matchup between the Sooners and Lady Bears at the Big 12 tournament since 2010. The winner of Sunday's game will play No. 2 seed Texas or No. 3 seed West Virginia in Monday's championship game at 8 p.m. CT.

ON THE AIR

Sunday's game will be televised on FS1 with Ron Thulin and Brenda VanLengen announcing. The contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network with Brian Brinkley calling the action.


FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Oklahoma boasts a 25-15 (.625) Big 12 Championship record, good for the second best winning percentage among current league members. The Sooners are 6-5 all-time in Big 12 Championship semifinals games (last win came in 2010). OU's four tournament titles (2002, 2004, 2006, 2007) are the second most behind Baylor's seven. The Sooners have played in six of the 19 Big 12 title games.

• Oklahoma holds a 26-22 all-time series advantage against Baylor, but have dropped 11 out of the last 12 matchups against the Lady Bears. Sunday''s matchup is just the second-ever meeting between the two programs in Oklahoma City. OU defeated Baylor, 78-64, in 2007 to claim the Big 12 Championship title at Cox Convention Center.

• Sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis picked up her first career double-double as the Sooners defeated Oklahoma State, 61-43, in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship Saturday. Pierre-Louis, the Big 12's Sixth Man of the Year, scored a team-high 16 points and finished with a career-best 15 rebounds against the Cowgirls. The 15 rebounds by the sophomore are tied for the most by an OU player in a single game this year.

Gioya Carter

Gioya Carter led the Sooners with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting in their last matchup with Oklahoma State on Feb. 3.

• After struggling from beyond the arc throughout Big 12 play, the Sooners are shooting .512 (21-of-41) from 3-point range in their last three contests. OU has shot over 45 percent from beyond the arc in three straight games. Against Iowa State on Feb. 27, the Sooners finished with a .600 clip (.600) to set a season high.

• The Sooners are 10-4 when playing in Oklahoma City under head coach Sherri Coale (5-3 at Chesapeake Energy Arena). The Sooners are 16-6 all-time in games played in Oklahoma City.

GAME 30 RECAP: OKLAHOMA STATE

• No. 24 Oklahoma advanced to the Big 12 Championship semifinals with a 61-43 victory over in-state rival Oklahoma State Saturday. The Sooners forced 27 Cowgirl turnovers (second most this season by an OU opponent) as OU shot .500 (7-of-14) from the 3-point line.

Vionise Pierre-Louis tallied her first career double-double with a team-high 16 points and 15 rebounds. The sophomore center's 15 rebounds are tied for the most by an OU player in a single game this year. Gioya Carter also finished in double figures, scoring 11 points with two 3-pointers. Derica Wyatt finished a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-3 from 3-point range to add in 13 points off the bench. Her 1.000 shooting percentage tied a Big 12 Championship quarterfinal game record. Wyatt's double-figure scoring effort was her first since chipping in 15 at Kansas State.

• Tied at 26-26 in the third quarter, Carter drew an and-one to allow the Sooners to retake the lead. OU used a 10-0 to push its advantage to 36-26. Wyatt came off the bench in the final frame to hit all three triples.

• The Sooners allowed Oklahoma State to score just 43 points, the fewest by an opponent in a Big 12 tournament game in program history. OU held Big 12 Player of the Year Brittany Martin to 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting. The Sooners also outscored OSU, 34-7, in bench points and won the rebounding battle, 38-33.


OU-BAYLOR SERIES HISTORY

• Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 26-22, against Baylor. The Lady Bears won swept both regular season meetings, 78-68 in Waco on Jan. 3 and 78-70 in Norman on Feb. 22 in Norman. The Sooners own a 4-0 advantage over Baylor in the Big 12 tournament.

• OU head coach Sherri Coale is 22-22 against the Lady Bears and 18-18 against Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey.


QUICK HITTERS

• Oklahoma has won three games for the first time since mid-December when the Sooners defeated Little Rock (Dec. 2), Tulsa (Dec. 6) and Washington (Dec. 9).

• Saturday's win marked the third time in the last five years OU has finished with a shooting percentage below .400 and won a Big 12 tournament game.

• Over the last three games, OU has outscored its opponents by an average of 28-5 in bench points. The Sooners have allowed just 16 bench points in as many games.

• OU outscored Oklahoma State, 34-7, in bench points Saturday. The 27-point margin is the tied for the second largest margin against a Big 12 opponent in school history.

Kaylon Williams' 32 points against Iowa State are tied with Oklahoma State's Brittany Martin for the most by a Big 12 player against a conference foe this year. The redshirt senior's 32 points are the most by an OU player in a single game since Aaryn Ellenberg scored 36 against DePaul in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

• Tuesday's victory over Texas Tech gave the Sooners their 20th victory of the season. The Sooners have 14 20-win seasons under Coale. OU's win over Iowa State on Feb. 27 marked the 10th time in the last 11 seasons that the Sooners have recorded at least 10 victories in Big 12 play.

• Oklahoma finished with a .600 3-point shooting percentage against Iowa State on Feb. 27, the highest clip by a Big 12 team in league play this year. It's the ninth-best mark by the Sooners in the Sherri Coale era.

• Oklahoma is 13-2 this season when leading at halftime and 3-0 when tied at the break. The Sooners are 5-6 when trailing at the intermission this season. OU is 17-2 this season when outrebounding its opponent and is 20-2 when holding foes to under 70 points. The Sooners are 17-3 when scoring 70 or more points against a foe this year.

• OU has also held 22 of its 30 opponents to sub-45 percent field goal shooting (six times in the last nine games). Only two opponents (Texas and Kansas State) have finished with a .500 or better shooting percentage against Oklahoma. The Sooners have also limited 19 of its 30 foes to sub 33-percent 3-point shooting.

• The Sooners are 2-5 this season against AP top-25 teams and 1-2 versus AP top-10 teams.

• The Sooners are 25-15 at the Big 12 Championships under Sherri Coale. OU's last tournament title came in 2007.

• Coale will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on June 11, 2016, in Knoxville, Tenn. Coale is OU's all-time leader in wins (441), leading the Sooners to three Final Fours and 16 straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

• Oklahoma has 14 players on its roster from eight different states and Puerto Rico (Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and San Juan, Puerto Rico).

• The Sooners return the majority of their production in every statistical category for 2015-16. That includes 81 percent of the team's points and rebounds, along with 85 percent of its assists, 81 percent of its blocks and 78 percent of its steals. OU also brings back 80 percent of its made 3-point field goals and its free throw production. 11 letterwinners return from last season's squad that combined to play 5,377 minutes a year ago.
