NORMAN, Okla. – Halfway through its 10-game road trip, the University of Oklahoma baseball team is back in its home state for a Tuesday night road game at Oral Roberts. The Sooners head to Tulsa for a 6:30 pm first pitch from J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Oklahoma is riding a six-game win streak after winning five on the road in California last week, including a four-game sweep of CSU Bakersfield. The Sooners are back over .500 with an 11-9-1 overall record. Junior shortstop Sheldon Neuse went 7-for-11 in a doubleheader against the Roadrunners on Saturday to lift his team-leading batting average to .370. He has totaled 12 extra-base hits, contributing to a .685 slugging percentage, which ranks second in the Big 12. Junior infielder Jack Flansburg is second on the team at .324 with a team-high 19 runs scored. Senior Alex Wise, who has made starts in right field and at first base, has lifted his batting average to .291 over a 10-game hit stream. He has scored 14 runs and driven in seven. Flansburg and Wise are the only two players to have started every game for Oklahoma. Sooner pitchers own a collective 3.33 earned run average; ranking third in the conference. Freshman right-handed reliever Austin Hansen is tied for the league lead in wins with a 4-0 record. Junior right-handers JB Olson and Neuse are tied for second in the Big 12 with three saves. Hansen owns a 0.00 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 12.2 inning of work, while Olson sports a 0.54 ERA, 1-0 record and has struck out 14 in 16.2 innings.

Oral Roberts is 10-9 under fourth-year head coach Ryan Folmar following a home series win over South Dakota State over the weekend. Prior to that series, the Golden Eagles picked up a pair of road wins over SEC opponents at Auburn and Mississippi State. ORU is led offensively by First baseman Rolando Martinez (.377) and catcher Matt Whatley (.354). Martinez has hit two home runs and driven in 12 runs, while Whatley has gone deep three times with a team-high 15 RBI. Right-hander Cale Tims will make his second start of the season on Tuesday. He is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA and eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings. Tims earned the win over the Bulldogs last Tuesday in a five-inning start.
