NORMAN — Following a victory by the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team to close its regular season last weekend, junior Chayse Capps and sophomore Stefani Catour snagged a pair of Big 12 weekly honors, the conference announced on Tuesday. Capps received her fourth Gymnast of the Week recognition of this season, while the accolade is the first of Catour's career.

Both Capps and Catour played pivotal roles in the Sooners' 197.950 to 197.200 road victory at then-No. 8 UCLA last Sunday. The duo both competed on beam, helping OU to a season-high 49.550, which is also the seventh-best total on the event in program history.

With a score of 39.550, Capps won her fifth all-around title of the season in her first year competing on all four events. She also secured her eighth individual beam honor of 2016 by tallying a huge 9.975 in the anchor position, marking the 10th straight meet she has scored at least a 9.9 on beam. The Plano, Texas, native tallied a 9.925 from the No. 2 spot on floor and added a 9.825 on both vault and bars.

For the sixth straight week, Capps is ranked No. 1 nationally on beam, holding a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 9.950. She is also ranked second in the all-around (39.620) and is tied for eighth on bars (9.915) and 19th on floor (9.910).

Catour turned in an impressive individual performance against the Bruins. Stepping into the bars lineup for the first time in her career, Catour capitalized on the opportunity as she tallied a big 9.925, the second-highest mark on the team. In the No. 3 spot on beam, she soared to a career-high 9.95 (previous high was a 9.9) to aid the Sooners to the season-best total on the apparatus.

This season, the Sooners earned at least one conference accolade each week of the regular season, including the specialist recognition every week, and a total of 20 overall.

West Virginia freshman Kirah Koshinski was honored alongside Capps and Catour, earning Freshman of the Week accolades.

The Sooners (20-1 overall, 3-0 Big 12) open postseason competition this weekend in Frisco, Texas, as they head to the 2016 Big 12 Championships inside Dr Pepper Arena. The meet will pit top-ranked OU against new conference member and No. 10 Denver, Iowa State and West Virginia. Competition is slated to begin at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday.
