Notes:

  • The Sooners started three freshmen in game one and four in game two, including Chris Andritsos on the mound. It marked the fifth game in a row with at least three freshmen starters and the sixth overall this season.
  • In game one, Long Beach totaled eight stolen bases. It was the most against Oklahoma since allowing 10 at Texas Tech (4/24/04).
  • The Sooners hit into a season-high five double plays, including four on the ground, in the opener. It is the most in a single game for OU in the last 13 seasons.
  • Jack Flansburg hit his second home run of the season and picked up his fourth multi-hit game of the year with a 2-for-3 effort in game one. He added a 2-for-4 game for his fifth multi-hit game in the nightcap.
  • Steele Walker's streak of consecutive games started in center field to start the season was snapped at 14 after starting game one of the doubleheader.
  • Sheldon Neuse hit his fourth home run of the season, all in the last seven games, in the third inning of game two. It marked the 17th of his career, which ties him with Matt Oberste (2012-13) for the most in the BBCOR era (2011-present).
  • Neuse's three-run homer marked the Sooners' first inning with more than two runs since facing Abilene Christian (2/24). Oklahoma has scored more than two runs in an inning on five occasions this season.
  • Neuse went 2-for-2 with two walks in game two for his sixth multi-hit game of the season and 45th of his career.
  • Alex Wise extended his reached base streak to 13 games with a hit in each.
