NORMAN For the second consecutive week, sophomore Natalie Brown and freshman Nicole Lehrmann of the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team have earned the same pair of Big 12 weekly awards, the conference announced Tuesday.

Brown was named the Event Specialist of the Week for the second straight week and the third time overall this season, while Lehrmann earned her fifth consecutive Newcomer of the Week accolade.

Both Sooners were key in OU's big 198.075-197.275 win over then-No. 4 Michigan last Friday night inside Lloyd Noble Center, each tying a career high on an event.

Brown matched her career-best mark on floor with a 9.925, which aided the Sooners to a 49.700 total, the second-best score in program history. She also contributed a 9.9 in the No. 4 spot on beam, her fourth straight mark of at least 9.9 on the event, and is currently ranked in a tie for fourth nationally on the apparatus with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 9.900.

On bars, Lehrmann secured a share of the event title with a career-high-matching 9.95, the second time she has posted the score this season and the fifth time she has scored at least a 9.9 on the apparatus. The Austin, Texas, native also added a 9.825 in the No. 2 spot on beam. She is ranked in a tie for sixth nationally on bars (9.905 RQS) and in a tie for 19th on beam (9.870 RQS).

This season, the Sooners have earned a total of 17 weekly conference accolades. OU has now won at least one Big 12 award and has secured the specialist recognition each week this season.

Honored along with Brown and Lehrmann was Denver senior Nina McGee, who earned the Big 12 Gymnast of the Week award.
