TUESDAY'S GAME BASICS

No. 23/23 Oklahoma (19-9, 10-7 Big 12) concludes Big 12 play on Tuesday night at Texas Tech (12-16, 3-14 Big 12) inside United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. The Sooners, who are coming off a 85-54 victory over Iowa State Saturday, beat the Lady Raiders 92-53 on Jan. 20 at Lloyd Noble Center. A victory would give OU its 14th 20-win season under head coach Sherri Coale. Texas Tech snapped a six-game losing streak Saturday night with a 69-58 victory on the road at Kansas.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Oklahoma owns a 31-22 all-time record against Texas Tech (27-12 since the formation of the Big 12) and is 12-13 in the series in Lubbock. In the teams' Jan. 20 meeting in Norman, the Sooners scored a season-high 92 points for a 92-53 victory over the Lady Raiders. Kaylon Williams led four Sooners in double figures with 18 points, while Maddie Manning added in 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

• In Saturday's win over Iowa State, Kaylon Williams scored a career-high 32 points and 13-of-14 shooting to lead the Sooners to a 85-54 victory. The redshirt senior finished with a .929 shooting percentage (13-of-14), which ranks as the best mark in the Sherri Coale era (minimum 10 attempts).

• OU finished with a season-high .600 field goal percentage against Iowa State, the best mark by a Big 12 team this season in conference play. The Sooners also finished with a 26-0 advantage in bench points, marking the 12th time in a Big 12 contest in program history that OU held their opponent to zero bench points.

The Sooners scored a season-high 92 points in their win over Texas Tech on Jan. 20 at Lloyd Noble Center.

• A candidate for the Big 12's Sixth Man of the Year, sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis leads the Big 12 in field goal percentage, shooting .623 from the field heading into Tuesday's contest. The sophomore also ranks second in conference play with a .631 shooting percentage among Big 12 players. In Big 12 play, Pierre-Louis is averaging 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest, while ranking seventh in the conference with a .786 free throw percentage.

• With a victory Tuesday, the Sooners can earn their 13th 20-win season under head coach Sherri Coale. OU has recorded at least 20 victories 10 times in the 11 last seasons.


GAME 28 RECAP: IOWA STATE

Kaylon Williams made her final home game in the Crimson and Cream one to remember. The senior poured in a career-high 32 points to propel No. 23 Oklahoma to an 85-54 victory over Iowa State on Saturday inside Lloyd Noble Center.

• The Sooners shot .600 from both the field (33-of-55) and from 3-point range (6-of-10) in the contest while limiting the Cyclones to .327 (17-of-52) shooting. OU outrebounded Iowa State by a 37-26 mark and outscored the Cyclones 42-20 in the paint. William's 32 points were a season high by an OU player this season.

Peyton Little reached double figures in scoring for the 40th time as a Sooner, contributing 11 points against the Cyclones. She also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds and dished out three assists. Gabbi Ortiz and T'ona Edwards each recorded nine points, and Gioya Carter matched her career best with six assists.

• The win gave Oklahoma its first season sweep over the Cyclones since 1994. The Sooners' 31-point victory was the largest margin victory by OU since 1985 against Iowa State.


PREVIEWING TEXAS TECH

• Texas Tech picked up its first Big 12 road win of the season Saturday with a 69-58 victory at Kansas. The win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Lady Raiders against conference opponents. Texas Tech averages 63.0 points a contest (ranks ninth in the Big 12) on .381 field goal shooting (ninth), .313 3-point shooting (seventh) and .644 free throwing shooting (ninth). The Lady Raiders are eighth in the Big 12 in field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot .407 from the floor.

• Redshirt junior guard Ivonne CookTaylor is one of two Lady Raiders that average scoring in doubles figures with 14.1 points per game (ranks ninth in the Big 12). The redshirt junior guard is shooting .390 from the field, .348 from behind the arc and averages 5.3 rebounds per game. CookTaylor led the Lady Raiders with a game-high 19 points on 8-of-18 shooting against the Jayhawks.

• Japreece Dean is second on the squad with a scoring average of 11.8 points per game. The freshman guard recorded 17 points, finishing 5-of-15 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the charity stripe against Kansas. She has been recognized as the Big 12's Freshman of the Week five times this year.

• Candi Whitaker is in her third year as Texas Tech's head coach. Whitaker, who has a 32-54 record with the Lady Raiders, led Texas Tech to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in 2001 and 2002 as the point guard for Hall of Fame head coach Marsha Sharp.

• Since the formation of the Big 12 Conference, Oklahoma owns a 27-12 advantage against Texas Tech. OU has won 19 out of the last 20 meetings (including 10 straight contests) against the Lady Raiders. Texas Tech's last win in the series was a 65-61 victory in Lubbock on March 5, 2011.

• Oklahoma is 12-13 all-time against Texas Tech in Lubbock. The Sooners have won eight out of the last nine meetings against the Lady Raiders in Lubbock including a 75-58 victory last season.


SENIOR DAY TO REMEMBER

• In her final home game at Lloyd Noble Center, Kaylon Williams turned in a memorable performance with a career-high on 32 points on 13-of-14 shooting. The 32 points by Williams were the most by an OU player this season and are tied for most points scored by a Big 12 player in a conference game this season.

• The redshirt senior's .929 shooting percentage ranks as the best in the Sherri Coale era (minimum 10 attempts). Williams' 32 points are also the most by a Sooner since Aaryn Ellenberg scored 36 points at DePaul in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2014.

• Williams' performance helped the Sooners finish with a season-high .600 shooting percentage. The .600 field goal percentage is the fifth-best mark against a Big 12 team in school history.


QUICK HITTERS

Kaylon Williams' 32 points against Iowa State are tied with Oklahoma State's Brittany Martin for the most by a Big 12 player against a conference foe this year. The redshirt senior's 32 points are the most by an OU player in a single game since Aaryn Ellenberg scored 36 against DePaul in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

• Oklahoma finished with a .600 3-point shooting percentage against Iowa State on Saturday, the highest clip by a Big 12 team in league play this year. It's the ninth-best mark by the Sooners in the Sherri Coale era.

• The Sooners finished the regular season 11-3 at home this season and have won 23 out of 27 contests at Lloyd Noble Center dating back to last season.

• OU's win Saturday over Iowa State marked the 10th time in the last 11 seasons that the Sooners have recorded at least 10 victories in Big 12 play. 

Peyton Little earned her first career Big 12 Player of the Week on Feb. 1 for her performances against West Virginia and at Iowa State. The redshirt junior guard averaged 18.0 points per game during the week, scoring all of her points in the second half in both games. Little's 23 points tied a season-high for a Sooner in a single game. Her 23 points in the second half are the most by an OU player since Danielle Robinson recorded 24 at Oklahoma State in 2010.

• Oklahoma is 11-2 this season when leading at halftime and 3-0 when tied at the break. The Sooners are 5-6 when trailing at the intermission this season. OU is 16-2 this season when outrebounding its opponent and is 18-2 when holding foes to under 70 points. The Sooners are 16-3 when scoring 70 or more points against a foe this year.

• OU has also held 21 of its 28 opponents to sub-45 percent field goal shooting (18 times in the last 25 games). Only two opponents (Texas and Kansas State) have finished with a .500 or better shooting percentage against Oklahoma. The Sooners have also limited 17 of its 28 foes to sub 33-percent 3-point shooting.

• The Sooners are 211-118 (.641) against Big 12 competition under Sherri Coale

• Coale will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on June 11, 2016, in Knoxville, Tenn. Coale is OU's all-time leader in wins (439), leading the Sooners to three Final Fours and 16 straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

• Oklahoma has 14 players on its roster from eight different states and Puerto Rico (Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and San Juan, Puerto Rico).

• The Sooners return the majority of their production in every statistical category for 2015-16. That includes 81 percent of the team's points and rebounds, along with 85 percent of its assists, 81 percent of its blocks and 78 percent of its steals. OU also brings back 80 percent of its made 3-point field goals and its free throw production. 11 letterwinners return from last season's squad that combined to play 5,377 minutes a year ago.

The Sooners will begin play in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship inside Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena. OU has earned a first-round bye and will play a quarterfinals game Saturday (opponent, seeding and time to be determined).
