NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 53 Oklahoma women's tennis team fell to No. 46 Oregon, 4-1, in Norman on Friday.

The Sooners (3-4) won the first doubles match at No. 3 with senior Zita Engbroks and sophomore Christiana Brigante besting Oregon's Marlou Kluiving and Christi Woodson, 6-0. After a 6-2 loss at No. 2  by junior Mimi Fotopoulos and sophomore Malene Stripp, the doubles point came down the court one.

Sophomore duo Lily Miyazaki and Simran Sethi exchanged games with the Ducks' Kennan Johnson and Shweta Sangwan. The Sooner tandem tied Oregon's pair at 2-2 before Oregon took over. Miyazaki/Sethi battled throughout the match, but OU's pair ultimately fell at No. 1, 6-4, as the Sooners dropped the doubles point.

Alyssa Tobita put the first singles point on the board for Oregon (4-2), beating Sethi, 6-2, 6-1, on court three. This win extended the Ducks' lead to two points. The next Oregon point came from No. 6 Marlou Kluiving, as she beat Egbroks, 7-5, 6-1.

Oklahoma senior No. 105 Emma Devine remained undefeated as she beat Nia Rose, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 2 line. Devine is now unbeaten at three positions for the Sooners. Despite being sick, head coach David Mullins has been impressed with Devine's.

"She's amazing. It's truly amazing what she's done these last three matches," Mullins said. "She's pulled out two matches, with one unfinished. She literally hasn't practiced for two weeks. She played yesterday for 20 minutes. I've never seen anything like it."

The clinching point came on court one with Oregon's No. 93 Kennan Johnson defeating Lily Miyazaki, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.

The Sooners are back in action Sunday as they take on Iowa at home. Match time is set for 11 a.m. CT.
