Sherri Coale Documentary to Premiere March 2

NORMAN – “'Neath a Western Sky: From Healdton to the Hall”, an original production by Sooner Sports TV on Oklahoma women's basketball head coach Sherri Coale will premiere Wednesday, March 2 at 6 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Oklahoma and Fox Sports Southwest.
The two-hour documentary details the life of Coale, growing up in the small town of Headlton, her time as a student-athlete at Oklahoma Christian and her transformation of the Oklahoma women's basketball program. The film reflects back to the Sooners' three Final Four appearances, 10 Big 12 Championships as well as the countless players that have helped build the Oklahoma program.
The documentary will re-air six times during March: March 9 at 6 p.m. (Fox Sports Oklahoma), March 13 at 11 a.m. (FS Oklahoma), March 21 at 7 p.m. (FS Oklahoma), March 26 at 11 a.m. (Fox Sports Southwest) and March 27 (Fox Sports Oklahoma).
In 20 years at Oklahoma, Coale has won 10 Big 12 championships (six regular season, four tournament). A four-time Big 12 Coach of the Year, Coale has led her teams to 16 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the sixth longest current streak in the nation. The Sooners have earned three Final Four berths under her leadership (2002, 2009, 2010) and have participated in nine Sweet 16s.
In total, Coale has coached four first-team All-Americans, six Big 12 Players of the Year and 14 WNBA Draft selections. Her players have also consistently achieved in the classroom, with 14 of them being named Academic All-Americans and 51 earning 102 Academic All-Big 12 honors under her direction.
Coale will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on June 11, 2016 in Knoxville, Tenn. Tickets are on sale now for the induction ceremony and are available for purchase here.
