NORMAN Fresh off its best team score of the season, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team held steady at the No. 2 spot in this week's national rankings. Additionally, six Sooners are ranked in the top 25 individually on at least one event. 

In Saturday night's Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, the Sooners soared to a first-place finish with a season-high 197.550. The mark raised OU's scoring average from 197.094 to 197.185. At the meet, OU defeated No. 6 LSU, No. 12 Stanford, No. 16 Missouri and Washington.

Florida is ranked No. 1 with an average of 197.438. Michigan remains at No. 3 with a 196.860, and Alabama (196.855) and UCLA (196.758) swapped spots and are ranked No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

As a team, OU is ranked in the top six nationally on every event, including three second-place rankings. The Sooners remained at No. 2 on vault (49.305), bars (49.360) and beam (49.280). After scoring a season-best 49.500 on floor Saturday, OU rose a spot to No. 6 on the event with a 49.240 average.

Senior Keeley Kmieciak comes in at No. 9 in the all-around with a 39.385, while junior Chayse Capps moved two spots to No. 13, averaging 39.340. Kmieciak is also ranked in the top 25 on vault (T-24, 9.85), bars (T-17, 9.860) and beam (T-12, 9.860), while Capps is ranked sixth on beam with a 9.890 average.

For the fourth consecutive week, junior McKenzie Wofford checks in at No. 1 in the nation on bars, holding a 9.930 average. Sophomore AJ Jackson shares eighth place nationally on vault with a 9.890 and sits at No. 17 on floor (9.895), and senior Haley Scaman is ranked in a tie for 17th on vault (9.865) and is No. 11 on floor with an average of 9.910. Junior Charity Jones is also ranked in the top 25 on vault, sitting in a tie for 24th while averaging a 9.850.

The Sooners (9-1 overall, 1-0 Big 12) compete in two meets this weekend, first heading to Texas Woman's University on Friday, Feb. 5. OU will also face No. 10 Auburn and Illinois State in the quad-meet. OU then returns home to host Big 12 opponent and No. 23 West Virginia at 1:45 p.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 7 inside Lloyd Noble Center.
