NORMAN – Oklahoma redshirt senior guard Peyton Little and junior center Vionise Pierre-Louis earned honorable mention selections to the Preseason All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
The preseason honors were chosen by the conference head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes.
Little is OU's top returning scorer after averaging 10.9 points per contest last season and hit 51 3-pointers a year ago. She led the Sooners in minutes played per game (30.4) and ranked 10th in the Big 12 with 1.6 3-pointers per game.
In her two seasons as a Sooner, Little has averaged 11.8 points a contest in 66 career games played at Oklahoma. The Abilene, Texas, native has hit 107 treys at OU and enters the 2016-17 season just 23 3-pointers shy of cracking the program's top-10 for 3-pointers made.
Pierre-Louis became one of the league's top post players in conference play last season en route to earning the 2016 Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year Award. She averaged 9.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game a year ago. In league play, Pierre-Louis led the Big 12 with a .633 field goal percentage and ranked second on the team with a 10.3 scoring average.
The Lake Worth, Fla., native already ranks 10th in school history with 73 career blocks.
The Sooners return four starters from last year's squad that made the program's 17th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament with a 22-11 overall record.
The Big 12 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll will be announced Oct. 12.
Oklahoma begins the season with the first of two exhibitions on Nov. 2 with an exhibition against Midwestern State at Lloyd Noble Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT. Season tickets are available by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-4668 or by clicking here.
