NORMAN, Okla. – Sooner Sports TV announced on Thursday that it will televise 17 Oklahoma baseball games during the 2016 season. The remaining eight games on the Sooners' home schedule will be available to stream via a SoonerSports.tv premium subscription, which also provides access to the radio broadcast of all 55 games plus the postseason.
Channel assignments as well as nationally televised games will be announced at a later date.
Oklahoma's first televised game of the season will be against Wichita State (3/8). SSTV will broadcast complete series against Long Beach State (3/11-13), West Virginia (4/22-24) and Kansas State (5/6-8). Two of three home games against Texas (4/2-3) and Baylor (4/8, 4/10) will also be televised. In midweek action, the Sooners will be televised when facing Dallas Baptist (4/5), Oklahoma State (4/19) and Oral Roberts (5/3).
Once again, Chad McKee will anchor Sooner Sports TV's coverage as the play-by-play, television voice of the Sooners. Sooner alum George Frazier, a veteran MLB broadcaster, and Mickey Tettleton will split the color commentary duties. Frazier, a 10-year MLB pitcher, recently retired as the television color commentator of the Colorado Rockies following the 2015 regular season. An Oklahoma State alum and two-time American League All-Star, Tettleton returns for his second year in the booth at OU.
The voice of the Sooners, Toby Rowland will once again be the lead play-by-play announcer on the radio dial. Locally, OU baseball can be found on KREF 1400 AM and 98.5 FM.
Sooner Sports TV will also handle the coverage of the Big 12 Championship from Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, May 25-29.
