BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
The No. 2 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team and No. 7 OU wrestling team are hosting their Beauty and the Beast event, which features a split-floor gymnastics meet and wrestling dual. Both squads are facing Big 12 foe Iowa State, and the gymnastics team will also take on Arizona State. All-time, the Sun Devils lead the series with OU, 11-7, but the Sooners won the most recent meeting in 2014. OU holds a 53-13-1 all-time advantage over the Cyclones. The Sooners are 77-4 at Lloyd Noble Center under 10th-year head coach K.J. Kindler.
RANKINGS UPDATE
As a team, OU is ranked in the top eight nationally on every event, including three top-three rankings. The Sooners check in at No. 2 on both vault (49.300) and beam (49.267) and hold the No. 3 spot on bars (49.283). On floor, OU is ranked No. 8 with a 49.117 average. Individually, Keeley Kmieciak (7th AA; 21st VT, T-12th BB), Chayse Capps (17th AA, 9th BB), McKenzie Wofford (T-1st, UB), AJ Jackson (T-2nd VT, T-17th FX), Haley Scaman (T-14th VT, 10th FX) and Charity Jones (23rd VT) are all ranked in the top 25.
TOPPING 197
OU has posted back-to-back 197-plus performances, scoring a 197.125 in a tri-meet with then-No. 11 California and Texas Woman's University then recording a 197.050 at No. 16 Arkansas last weekend. OU's 197.125 from last Friday stands as the third-best in the country this season.
TITLE SWEEPS
In both of their meets last weekend, the Sooners grabbed at least a share of each individual event title. Against Cal and TWU, event winners included Haley Scaman and AJ Jackson (VT, FX), Chayse Capps and McKenzie Wofford (UB) and Kara Lovan (BB). At Arkansas, Jackson again won vault, Wofford shared the bars honor with the Razorbacks' Paige Zaziski, Capps placed first on beam and Scaman claimed the floor title.

Friday's meet will air through Sooner Sports TV on FOX Sports Southwest Plus and FOX College Sports Pacific with Kelly Garrison-Funderburk serving as color commentator and Bill Doleman calling play-by-play. The broadcast will re-air at 10 p.m. CT on Saturday on FOX Sports Southwest.
A GLANCE AT IOWA STATE
Most recently, the Cyclones finished in first place at the four-team Ozone Collegiate Gymnastics Classic in Knoxville, Tenn. Iowa State earned the team title with a 194.200. Jay Ronyane serves as head coach for ISU.
A GLANCE AT ARIZONA STATE
The Sun Devils are coming off a 194.650-192.450 loss against Washington. To open the season, ASU placed second in a tri-meet with Nebraska and Bowling Green, scoring a 192.700. The Sun Devils are coached by Ren? Lyst.
? Senior Keeley Kmieciak earned Big 12 Gymnast of the Week accolades on Jan. 19 after securing the all-around title in both of OU's competitions last weekend, while junior McKenzie Wofford was named the Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for the second time this season.
? Oklahoma returns eight previous NCAA All-Americans who own 15 total accolades: Chayse Capps (VT, BB), Maile'ana Kanewa (VT, FX), Kara Lovan (FX), Haley Scaman (VT, FX), AJ Jackson (VT), Charity Jones (VT), Keeley Kmieciak (UB, BB) and McKenzie Wofford (UB).
?? Senior Haley Scaman, the two-time Big 12 Gymnast of the Year, enters this season as the only Sooner in program history to post multiple 10.0s in a career as well as 10.0s on multiple events. Scaman owns three perfect scores on floor and two on vault.
?? OU's schedule includes 10 meets to be held in the states of Oklahoma or Texas, including five in Norman inside the Lloyd Noble Center.
All five of OU's regular season matches will be televised live by Sooner Sports TV.
There will be free "beauty" and "beast" T-shirts, and Alpha Gymnastics will perform pre-meet. A photo booth, balloon artist and face painter will be set up in the Kid's Zone from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The Sooners travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the Metroplex Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 30. Opponents at the meet will be No. 7 LSU, No. 14 Missouri, No. 24 Stanford and Washington. The event will be held in the Fort Worth Convention Center, the host site of the 2016 NCAA Championships.
