SATURDAY'S GAME BASICS

No. 14/17 Oklahoma (12-3, 3-1 Big 12) travels to Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday to take on Oklahoma State in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma Bedlam Series at noon at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Sooners, who are 4-1 this season in true road games, defeated Kansas State, 68-58 at Lloyd Noble Center last Sunday. Oklahoma State (12-4, 2-3 Big 12) enter Saturday's game after falling on the road at K-State, 47-44, Wednesday night. The Cowgirls are under the direction of fifth-year head coach Jim Littell.

Saturday's game will air on Fox Sports Oklahoma and Fox Sports Southwest with Ron Thulin and Brenda VanLengen announcing. The contest will also air on the Sooner Radio Network with Brian Brinkley calling the action.


FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Oklahoma owns a 58-38 advantage against Oklahoma State and has won seven out of the last 10 meetings. The Sooners are 22-20 all-time in Stillwater against the Cowgirls. OU swept the season series a year ago and is 32-9 against Oklahoma State under head coach Sherri Coale.

• The Sooners were efficient at the free throw line in last Sunday's win over Kansas State, finishing 28-of-34 from the free throw line. OU's 28 made free throws set a season-high (most by a team in Big 12 play this season) and tied a season-high with 34 attempts at the charity stripe. The Sooners finished the game with a .824 free throw percentage, also a season-high. Sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis was perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line and led the Sooners with 15 points against K-State.

Kaylon Williams has scored in double figures in all 15 games, a streak that ranks 11th in school history to begin a season. The redshirt senior forward has led the Sooners in scoring six times this year and leads the team with six double-doubles. She is one of just two players in the Big 12 to rank in the top-10 in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage.

Kaylon Williams needs just 18 points to become the 31st player in school history to score 1,000 points.

Derica Wyatt has given the Sooners another consistent scoring option since the Sooners began Big 12 play. The junior guard is third on the team with 10.3 points per game and has averaged 4.3 rebounds per contest in conference games. Wyatt has a .417 3-point shooting percentage against league foes, which is the seventh-best mark in the league.

• OU has displayed a balancing score attack throughout this season with its five starters averaging between 7.6 and 14.6 points per game. Nine different players have scored in doubles figures this season. Each of OU's starters has scored in doubles figures at least six times this season.


GAME 15 RECAP: KANSAS STATE

Vionise Pierre-Louis tied her career-high with 15 points and led the Sooners with a game-high seven rebounds as No. 17/19 Oklahoma defeated Kansas State, 68-58, Sunday at Lloyd Noble Center.

• Pierre-Louis was one of four Sooners in double figures, scoring 11 of her 15 points in the second half. The sophomore center was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line against the Wildcats to a set a career-high in free throws made in a single game. Redshirt senior forward Kaylon Williams recorded her 15th straight game in double-digit scoring, finishing with 14 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field and an 8-of-10 performance from the free throw line. Derica Wyatt chipped in 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers for the Sooners against K-State, while Gabbi Ortiz finished with 10 points and three assists.

• The Sooners did the majority of their damage at the free throw line, hitting a season-high 28 free throws on 34 attempts in the victory. OU's .824 free throw percentage was also a season-high. The Sooners closed the contest by hitting 21-of-26 free throws in the second half. OU put together a dominant first quarter, outscoring the Wildcats, 22-8, in the opening frame by holding K-State to just 3-of-12 (.250) shooting to begin the game. The Wildcats outshot the Sooners, .368-.347, while OU finished with a .286 shooting percentage from 3-point range to K-State's .158 mark.


PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA STATE

• Oklahoma State heads into Saturday's game with a 2-3 record in Big 12 play. The Cowgirls fell 47-44 on the road at Kansas State Wednesday night. Oklahoma State is averaging 67.0 points per game (ninth in the Big 12) on a .420 field goal percentage (sixth), .246 3-point shooting percentage (10th) and a .620 free throw percentage (10th). In league play, The Cowgirls average 51.0 points a contest (ninth) on a .346 shooting percentage (eighth), .238 3-point shooting (10th) and a .594 mark at the charity stripe (eighth).

• Brittney Martin leads the Cowgirls in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double per contest with 21.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Martin's scoring average leads the Big 12 and ranks 16th in the nation this season. Kaylee Jensen is second on the team with 13.7 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game. Guard Roddricka Patton is sixth in the country with 6.8 assists per game and averages 4.8 points per contest.

• Oklahoma State is under the direction of head coach Jim Littell, who is in his fifth season with the Cowgirls (100-48 record).

• Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 58-38, against Oklahoma State with the Sooners winning seven out of the last 10 meetings. The Sooners are 22-20 against the Cowgirls in Stillwater.

• The Sooners swept both meetings between the two teams last season. OU won 73-54 in Norman on Jan. 19, 2015 behind 18 points from Gioya Carter. The Sooners wrapped up the sweep with a 66-56 victory on March 2 in Stillwater as Kaylon Williams scored a team-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

• OU head coach Sherri Coale is 32-9 in the Bedlam Series during her tenure with the Sooners. Coale is 5-3 against Oklahoma State head coach Jim Littell.


DOUBLE-DOUBLE KAY KAY

• Redshirt senior forward Kaylon Williams has logged double-doubles six times this season, matching her total from last season (32 games). Williams leads OU with 15 career double-doubles and is just one shy of cracking the top 10 in school history. She also scored in doubles figures in all 15 games this season.

• Williams' streak of 15 games in doubles figures ranks as the 11th-best run by a Sooner in program history to begin a season. Dating back to last year, Williams has scored in doubles figures in 17 straight games and 22 out of the last 24 contests. Courtney Paris holds the all-time mark at OU with 120 consecutive double-digit scoring games.

• The Midwest City, Okla., native is 27th in the nation in field goal percentage (.552), 43rd in double-doubles (6) and also ranks 77th in rebounds per game (8.9).

• The redshirt senior ranks seventh all-time in OU history with 291 offensive rebounds and is 10th with 62 blocks. Her .547 career field goal percentage is the 19th-best mark among active players in the NCAA

AMONG THE ELITE

Kaylon Williams is one of just two players in the Big 12 to rank in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage this season. Only Kansas State's Breanna Lewis has accomplished this feat.

• The redshirt senior is fifth in the league in rebounding (8.9 rpg), while ranking seventh in scoring (14.6 ppg) and field goal percentage (.553).

• Williams is looking to etch her name in the OU record books. She already ranks seventh in school history with 291 offensive rebounds, just 17 shy of passing Caton Hill for sixth place. Williams needs just 18 points to become the 31st 1,000-point scorer in program history. Last season, Williams ranked fourth in the nation with a .596 field goal percentage.


VI-FFICIENT

• Sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis was the definition of efficient in Sunday's win over K-State. Pierre-Louis tied a career-high with 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting and posted a game-high seven rebounds in just 10 minutes of action.

• Pierre-Louis was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line in the victory, setting a career-highs in made free throws and free throw attempts in a single game as a Sooner. As a team, OU set a season-high with 28 free throws makes and tied a season-high with 34 free throw attempts against K-State.


IN BIG 12 PLAY

• Since the start of Big 12 play, Oklahoma is averaging 70.2 points per game (third in the league) and allowing 61.2 points a contest (tied for fifth). The Sooners have been in strong on the boards, ranking third in the conference with a +7.5 rebounding margin.

• OU leads the Big 12 in league play with 10.8 steals per game led by Maddie Manning's and T'ona Edwards' 2.3 swipes per contest.

• OU's strong performance in its last outing versus Kansas State boosted the Sooners to second in the league with a .732 free throw percentage (60-of-82) against conference foes.
• The Sooners rank third in assists per game (16.3) and scoring margin (+9.0) against Big 12 competition.


QUICK HITTERS

• Eight OU players are averaging double-figure minutes for the Sooners through 15 games. Derica Wyatt (25.7) Gabbi Ortiz (26.7), Maddie Manning (26.7) and Peyton Little (31.9) are averaging 25-plus minutes per contest. Little's 31.9 minutes per game is the eighth-best average in the conference heading into Saturday's game.

Derica Wyatt is shooting .353 (30 of 85) from 3-point range this season, scoring in doubles figures five times in the last seven games. Wyatt hit four 3-pointers against Kansas on Dec. 30. The junior is fourth with 2.5 3-pointers per game against Big 12 competition.

Gabbi Ortiz's six 3-pointers in OU's win over UTSA on Dec. 13 were just one shy of tying the Lloyd Noble Center record. Margaret McKeon and Morgan Hook hold the record with seven triples in a single game. The six triples by Ortiz also are tied for the most by a Big 12 player in a single game this year.

• Since the start of Big 12 play, Oklahoma has registered 16.3 assists per game (third in the Big 12). OU recorded 19 assists in its win at TCU on Jan. 6, its most in a Big 12 game since finishing with 22 assists at Iowa State last season.

• The Sooners registered 15 steals in their road win at TCU on Jan. 6, which is tied for the most steals in a league game this season.

• Oklahoma enters Saturday's game ranked No. 14 in the latest AP poll, its highest ranking of the season. It marks the first time the Sooners have been inside the top-15 of the AP since Nov. 18, 2013.

• The Sooners average 31.1 points per game in the paint. This season 446 of 1,005 total points (43.4 percent) have come through the paint, while holding foes to 23.7 points per game in the post. OU also has outscored its opponents by 5.8 points per game off turnovers on the year (19.1-13.3).

• Oklahoma has made 10 or more treys in a single game five times this season through 15 games. It took the Sooners 26 games last season to accomplish that feat. The Sooners ranked third in the Big 12 with 7.5 made 3-pointers per game.

• OU is 11-0 this season when outrebounding its opponent. The Sooners have dominated the boards in home this season with a +10.4 rebounding margin. OU has also held 13 of its 15 opponents to sub-45 percent field goal shooting (10 times in the last 12 games). No opponent has shot 50 percent or better this season. The Sooners have also limited 11 of its 15 foes to sub 33-percent 3-point shooting.

• The Sooners are 297-213 (.582) all-time against Big 12 competition and 204-112 (.646) under Sherri Coale.

• Coale will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on June 30, 2016, in Knoxville, Tenn. Coale is OU's all-time leader in wins (432) and has led the Sooners to three Final Fours and 16 straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

• The Sooners return the majority of their production in every statistical category for 2015-16. That includes 81 percent of the team's points and rebounds, along with 85 percent of its assists, 81 percent of its blocks and 78 percent of its steals. OU also brings back 80 percent of its made 3-point field goals and its free throw production. 11 letterwinners return from last season's squad that combined to play 5,377 minutes a year ago.
