NORMAN – Former Oklahoma women's basketball star Courtney Paris earned the WNBA Peak Performance Award for rebounding for the second straight season, the league office announced Thursday.

Paris, who is in her second year with the Tulsa Shock, led the WNBA averaging 9.3 rebounds per game which is the second-best mark of her career. She pulled down 317 rebounds in 2015, including a career-best 215 boards on the defensive glass while starting all 34 games at center for Tulsa.

A four-time All-American at OU, Paris posted double-figures in rebounds 14 times during the regular season for the Shock. She set her career rebounding high twice during the year, recording 19 rebounds against the San Antonio Stars (June 14) and the Washington Mystics (July 21).

Paris and the Shock begin the 2015 WNBA Playoffs Thursday night as Tulsa travels to Phoenix for Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals at 9 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
