Fast Break Club Golf Tourney a Success

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's basketball program and the Fast Break Club kicked off the 2015-16 season in appropriate fashion... by hitting the golf course. Participants met the new Sooner squad, including incoming freshman, Ijeoma "EJ" Odimgbe. The funds raised by this event will assist in the funding of a foreign tour in 2016.

The OU coaches, staff and players and title sponsor Barcas LLC hosted a rain-free day of golf at the University's own Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.

A total of 120 golfers made up 30 teams raising more than $50,000 for the women's program.

The big winners were:

Low Gross Team
First place: Brad Purcell, Steve Ives, Leslie Ives, Aleta Giddens
Second place: Don Cochran, Rick Bell, Eric Barnhart, Scott Kadechuk

Low Net Team
First place: Debbie Morehead, Cody Pogue, Tony Gatewood, Allan Miller
Second place: David Little, Bo Overton, Chelsi Welch, Kendra Wecker

The women's hoops program would like to thank sponsors, participants and contributors.  The OU family also wishes to thank Rib Crib for supplying lunch at the golf course.
