Georgia Casey // Sr. // INF Senior Georgia Casey had one of Oklahoma's two hits on the night as she singled to lead off the third inning. Since going 0-3 in her return from a thumb injury on April 3, Casey is batting .333 (7-21) with three runs scored, a double, two home runs and 13 RBI.

NORMAN – No. 5/5 Oklahoma saw its 12-game winning streak to a come close as No. 17/14 Baylor opened the three-game series with an 8-0, six-inning win Thursday night at Marita Hynes Field.

The loss was the first for OU in league play as it dropped to 9-1 in the Big 12 and 36-6 overall. The Sooners still lead the Lady Bears by 1.5 games in the league race as BU improved to 6-1 in the conference and 31-9 overall.

It was the third time in program history that OU started 9-0 but couldn't win get the win to move to 10-0. Those previous teams, 2000 and 2002, went on to win the national championship and reach the Super Regionals, respectively.

Dating back to last season, OU had won 15 straight games within league play. The streak ends as the second longest in program history, trailing only a 21-game win streak from April 1, 2001 to April 10, 2002.

The Sooners were held to a season-low two hits Thursday, matching the mark set against LSU on March 20. Coincidentally, that series in Baton Rouge was also the only other time this year OU was run-ruled as the Tigers beat the Sooners, 10-2, in six innings on March 21.

The first of Oklahoma's hits came in the second inning when junior Erin Miller singled up the middle. Two batters later, though, Miller was caught stealing for the first time this year after having been successful on her previous nine tries.

After two scoreless innings, Baylor opened the scoring in the third inning.

With one out, Robin Landrith and Kaitlyn Thumann hit back-to-back singles. Linsey Cargill then sent a drive deep to right center for an RBI single. Ari Hawkins cleared the bases with a two-run double, also to right center, to push the BU lead to 3-0.

Oklahoma collected its second hit in the bottom of the third as it tried to rally.

Senior Georgia Casey singled through the left side to lead off the frame, but she was forced out at second on a fielder's choice. A pair of swinging strikeouts then ended the Sooners' third.

Landrith added to Baylor's lead with a solo home run to lead off the fifth. Her first of the year gave the Lady Bears a 4-0 lead.

A four-run sixth for the Bears put the run-rule into effect as Jordan Strickland had an RBI single to left field and pinch hitter Christy Lisenby had a three-run homer later in the frame.

Keeping the OU bats in check was BU starter Heather Stearns. She struck out nine with no walks and retired the final 12 batters of the game after Casey's single in the third. Stearns' record is now 14-6 on the season.

The Sooners will look to even up the series Friday night. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m., and the game will air on Fox Sports Southwest and Fox College Sports Central.
