Notes:

  • Anthony Hermelyn hit third; marking the first game all season he did not bat clean-up.
  • Craig Aikin's lead-off single in the second was the 200th hit of his career. He ranks 17th all-time in the OU record book and is the first to reach 200 since Max White (2013).
  • Hermelyn, who ranks second in the Big 12, recorded his team-leading 17th multi-hit game in a 3-for-6 performance for his fifth three-hit game of the season.
  • Taylor Alspaugh notched his 12th multi-hit game of the season and is hitting .423 (22-for-52) over the last 13 games.
  • Sooner starting pitchers have lasted six or more innings in 19 out of 35 starts this season and 10 starts of seven or more innings.
  • Oklahoma played extra innings for its second straight series opener and second straight in extras against Texas in game one of a series. Last season, UT won 10-8 in 10 innings.
  • The Sooners are 4-1 in extra-inning games this season, including 3-0 in Big 12 play. It marked the third extra-inning game for OU in its last five games. OU is also 9-2 in extras under second-year head coach Pete Hughes.
