• The Sooners are no strangers to conference championships, as the program has claimed 21 titles in its history. Oklahoma has captured each of the last three MPSF crowns and 13 of the last 15. Last year the Crimson and Cream ran away with the title, scoring 446.100 points. Stanford, the second place team, totaled 436.700 followed by California at 436.700 and Air Force with 425.650.
• Individually Oklahoma has consistently fared well at the conference championship level, accumulating a total of 120 individual title winners. Five members of the 2015 squad have already combined to earn six MPSF first place finishes over their previous three years. Michael Squires is the two-time defending champion on still rings, while Kanji Oyama (vault - 2015), Sergey Resnick (pommel horse - 2014), Alec Robin (vault - 2014) and Will Clement (high bar - 2014) have each won a title. The Sooners have claimed at least three individual crowns in each of the last three MPSF Championships.
• Oklahoma has posted some of the most dominant performances in recent memory at the NCAA level this season. The Crimson and Cream broke the NCAA record for overall team score twice in as many competitions by totaling a mark of 456.400 against Michigan and following up with a 457.300 against No. 2 Illinois. The Sooners are the only team in NCAA history to score higher than a 450, which they accomplished twice this season.
• Oklahoma has the top-ranked competitors in three of the six individual events thus far in 2015. Senior Mike Squires leads the way with an unbelievable four score average of 16.233 on the still rings, while fellow senior Michael Reid possesses a four score average of 15.633 on the pommel horse to take the nation's top ranking. OU senior Danny Berardini ranks first in the country on the high bar with an average of 15.350.
• The perfect 13-0 record by the Sooners only scratches the surface of showing how dominant the team has been in 2015. Oklahoma has posted the highest event individual score in 39 of 42 events so far this season, with 13 Sooners combining to claim the 39 top scores. The Crimson and Cream swept first-place finishes at the Rocky Mountain Open, the tri-meet at Iowa, the home-opener vs. Michigan, the dual vs. No. 2 Illinois and the dual vs. Ohio State. Oklahoma has yet to suffer a defeat in the floor exercise, still rings, or high bar events.
OU will return home and turn its focus to the NCAA Championships, as the squad tries to win it's ninth national title. The Sooners will host the NCAAs in Norman at the Lloyd Noble Center from April 9-11. Purchase tickets here.
