NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team extended its program-record streak of weeks at No. 1 nationally on Monday, taking the No. 1 ranking for the eighth consecutive week. OU boosted its season résumé with a 197.875 road score last Friday night that resulted in a one-tenth jump in its regional qualifying score (RQS) this week.
RQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. Oklahoma's RQS of 197.740 leads the country by over two-tenths of a point.

The latest rankings set up an exciting Senior Night meet in Norman this Friday, March 6. The top-ranked Sooners will take on No. 3 Florida in a rematch between the defending NCAA Co-Champion programs. OU and the Gators shared the national title at last season's championship meet after tying with an NCAA-record 198.175 team score.
The meet will be held at the Lloyd Noble Center with a start time of 6:45 p.m. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
The Sooners maintained No. 1 national rankings on three of four individual events, pulling down the top spot on uneven bars (49.450), balance beam (49.415) and floor exercise (49.455). Oklahoma is also ranked third in the nation on vault (49.480).
OU earned a nation-leading 17 individual rankings across all four events as well, including an impressive total of five top 25 appearances on both bars and beam.
Sophomore Chayse Capps captured solo possession of the nation's No. 1 ranking on beam for the second straight week with an RQS of 9.920. She also tied for ninth in the country on vault (9.915).
Capps was joined in the beam rankings by four other members of Oklahoma's six-person lineup. Sophomore Kara Lovan joined Capps in the top ten, tying for seventh with an RQS of 9.890. OU's super senior trio on beam rounded out the rankings with Rebecca Clark (T-15, 9.870), Haley Sorensen (T-18, 9.865) and Erica Brewer (T-18, 9.865) each earning spots in the rankings. Sorensen's appearance is the first of her career at Oklahoma.
The Sooner bars lineup was paced again this week by sophomore McKenzie Wofford, who took the No. 2 national ranking with an RQS of 9.940 this week. A pair of Sooners pulled down top ten appearances alongside Wofford as Haley Scaman and Brenna Dowell tied for the No. 7 spot (9.895).
Keeley Kmieciak tied for 12th nationally on bars this week (9.885) and Brewer rounded things out with a tie for 18th (9.875).
Scaman paced Oklahoma this week on both vault and floor exercise, ranking in the top five nationally on both events. The junior is fourth in the country on vault (9.935) and tied for fifth on floor (9.930). She and Capps were joined in the vault rankings by Dowell this week (T-22, 9.890).
Dowell also appeared in the floor rankings this week, surging up to a tie for seventh (9.920). She was joined by classmate Ali Jackson (T-11, 9.905) and Lovan (T-17, 9.895).
