NOTES AND NUMBERS FOR WEEK 11

FAB FOUR
This Saturday night, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team will pursue an unprecedented feat: a fourth consecutive Big 12 Conference title. No Big 12 program has ever won four straight conference crowns in women's gymnastics. Both Nebraska ('97-'99, '01-'03) and Oklahoma ('08-'10, '12-'14) previously posted streaks of three titles in a row. OU owns a total of 12 conference titles in its program history and six Big 12 titles under head coach K.J. Kindler.

14-0
Within a span of two days last weekend, Oklahoma achieved regular season perfection and also became the nation's only NCAA gymnastics team to do so. Even more impressively, the Sooners finished the regular season at 14-0 while facing the No. 2 toughest schedule in the nation. OU topped four of the country's top-six ranked teams during the 2015 regular season. Of the other teams ranked in the top five for toughest schedule, none besides OU posted fewer than three losses.

TEN IN A ROW
The Sooners were ranked No. 2 in the preseason, jumped to a No. 1 ranking in the first week of the regular season and never looked back. Monday marked the 10th consecutive week that OU has owned at least a share of the nation's No. 1 spot, a program record achievement. Oklahoma is the first team since Florida in 2011 to be ranked No. 1 for 10 consecutive weeks. The Sooners own a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 197.860 and will have one more chance to boost that score with a strong performance on Saturday night.

FRESHMAN PHENOMS
After the injury bug bit in warm-ups, the Oklahoma coaching staff looked to its freshman class to step up last week at Alabama. Natalie Brown, Brenna Dowell and Ali Jackson more than responded, posting six scores of 9.875 or higher on the night. Each earned scores of 9.9 or higher during a key floor exercise rotation, with Dowell and Jackson also contributing on vault and floor and Brown adding a routine on beam. Brown, Dowell and Jackson have each earned at least one Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award this season.

QUICK HITS
Haley Scaman has earned 17 event titles this season and at least one title in each of Oklahoma's meets. She kept her streak alive last weekend with a 9.95 on vault that tied for top honors.
•   The Sooners netted a conference-best 14 All-Big 12 awards on Wednesday. Haley Scaman (V, UB, FX) and Brenna Dowell (V, UB, FX) paced Oklahoma with three selections apiece. Chayse Capps (V, BB) and Ali Jackson (V, FX) each earned two awards, while Rebecca Clark (BB), Kara Lovan (BB), Haley Sorensen (BB) and McKenzie Wofford (UB) earned one honor.
• Oklahoma earned nine Academic All-Big 12 awards to lead the conference this week. The mark ties for the most under head coach K.J. Kindler. First team selections: Chayse Capps, Rebecca Clark, Maile'ana Kanewa, Keeley Kmieciak, Kara Lovan, Haley Scaman, Haley Sorensen, McKenzie Wofford; Second team selections: Erica Brewer
Natalie Brown captured Big 12 Newcomer of the Week awards on Tuesday to end the regular season. Oklahoma won at least one weekly honor from the conference every week in 2015.
• With 287 career victories, head coach K.J. Kindler is within striking distance of her 300th career win in 2015.

Q&A WITH COACH KINDLER
On the key event this weekend:
Vault and floor. We're coming off a couple weeks with almost no sticks on vault, so that's somewhere our lineup needs to get on top. Also, we've fallen to fourth in the polls on vault. I think this is a much better team than that. Polls don't really reflect the strength of our vault team right now. With two (Yurchenko) 1.5s in that lineup that are nearly flawless, we just need some sticks from those (Yurchenko) fulls to accommodate for what might be a step on the others. Our vaults are incredibly clean and we show great extension all the way to the floor, which I think is what sets us apart, but those landings have to get better. Those are the two events where we are still looking for a breakout performance.

On what it will take to have a big weekend:
This weekend will be a reflection of how motivated we are for what's coming up and how mentally strong we are. They know they still have so much room to grow on all four events. Our landings need to get better, and they know that. We're definitely putting extra focus into that. The results will be determined on where they are mentally.

On the readiness of Erica Brewer:
Erica is questionable right now, so we'll wait and see on her. Ali Jackson is also wait and see on uneven bars, but everyone else is ready to go.

On persevering through injury tweaks:
The last three away meets, we've had a glitch with an athlete or two. A lot of it is how the athlete who is injured responds. That helps the team move forward. Luckily we've had situations where the athletes that have had issues are very tough about it. They stand very strong and their teammates are able to move on. If they had reacted differently, my team might have reacted differently. But they were extremely tough so the team was tough as well.
