• With Saturday being the final regular season home meet of the season, the Sooners will honor its senior class with a Senior Night ceremony following the meet. Seven members of the OU squad will be honored, as Dylan Akers, Danny Berardini, Will Clement, Michael Reid, Alec Robin, Jacoby Rubin and Mike Squires have each competed as a Sooner for four seasons. Should Robin win the award, he would become the eighth Sooner to receive the honor.
• Senior Alec Robin has been named a finalist for the most prestigious award in NCAA men's gymnastics, the Nissen-Emery Award. Robin joins five other gymnasts from around the country to make the cut as a finalist. Robin is a two-time NCAA national champion, claiming the event title on the floor exercise and vault at the 2014 NCAA Championships. Robin has earned five All-America honors through the first three years of his career and is a two-time CGA Academic All-American.
• The last two OU home meets have resulted in record-setting performances. The Crimson and Cream broke the NCAA record for overall team score twice in as many competitions by totaling a mark of 456.400 against Michigan and following up with a 457.300 against No. 2 Illinois. The Sooners are the only team in NCAA history to score higher than a 450, which they accomplished in the last two competitions in Norman.
• Oklahoma has the top-ranked competitors in three of the six individual events thus far in 2015. Senior Mike Squires leads the way with an unbelievable four score average of 16.233 on the still rings, while fellow senior Michael Reid possesses a four score average of 15.633 on the pommel horse to take the nation's top ranking. OU senior Danny Berardini ranks first in the country on the high bar with an average of 15.350.
• The perfect 12-0 record by the Sooners only scratches the surface of showing how dominant the team has been in 2015. Oklahoma has posted the highest event individual score in 33 of 36 events so far this season, with 12 Sooners combining to claim the 33 top scores. The Crimson and Cream swept first-place finishes at the Rocky Mountain Open, the tri-meet at Iowa, the home-opener vs. Michigan and the dual vs. No. 2 Illinois. Oklahoma has yet to suffer a defeat in the floor exercise, still rings, or high bar events.
The Sooners do not have a competition next week, as the team will be tuning up in practice for the MPSF Championships on Saturday, March 28 at 6 p.m. CT in Colorado Springs, Colo.
