NORMAN - The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is the nation's top team across the board.
In addition to being ranked No. 1 as a team for the fifth consecutive week, the Sooners are first in the nation on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. OU owns an overall average of 197.579 through six meets in 2015.
Oklahoma is the first team in NCAA gymnastics to sweep No. 1 rankings on every apparatus during the regular season since Florida on Feb. 28, 2011. The rankings mark the first time in program history that OU has been ranked first on every event.
OU is fourth program to sweep No. 1 rankings across the board since 2000, joining Florida, Georgia and UCLA.
Sophomore Chayse Capps paced all Sooners in the individual rankings this week, tying for first in the nation on balance beam with a season average of 9.917. Capps has posted a 9.9 or better on beam in four straight meets, including two scores of 9.95. She is also tied for 13th nationally on vault (9.905).
Joining Capps in the vault rankings is junior Haley Scaman, who pulled down the No. 3 spot in the country with an average of 9.938. Scaman is No. 15 on uneven bars (9.871) and sixth in the NCAA on floor exercise (9.908).
Rounding out OU's appearances on vault were Keeley Kmieciak (T-15th, 9.9) and freshman Ali Jackson (22nd, 9.883). Kmieciak has not posted lower than a 9.9 since re-entering the vault lineup last week.
McKenzie Wofford led Oklahoma on uneven bars again this week after taking the title last weekend at Iowa State. Wofford is No. 4 in the country, boasting a season average of 9.925. Kmieciak joined Scaman and Wofford in the bars rankings this week as well, earning an appearance at No. 21 (9.865), while Erica Brewer slotted in at No. 22 (9.863).
Kara Lovan achieved a career-high ranking alongside Capps in the beam rankings this week, catapulting to No. 6 in the nation with an average of 9.871. Brewer also picked up the No. 15 spot in the beam rankings (9.854).
Lovan joined Scaman in the floor rankings as well, rising to No. 11 (9.896). Freshman Brenna Dowell is No. 16 on floor as well, averaging a 9.885.
