Oklahoma vs. West Virginia
Feb. 3, 2015

• No. 21/21 Oklahoma shot 61.4 percent from the field (its best mark since the 2004-05 season) in a 71-52 home win over No. 15/12 West Virginia. It was the Mountaineers' highest field goal mark surrendered since 2012.

• The game marked just the fourth this season that West Virginia was outscored off turnovers. The Mountaineers entered the game averaging 23.2 points per contest off turnovers this season but were outscored 27-8 in that department by Oklahoma tonight (the largest difference in favor of their opponent of the season). OU has now outscored its opponents off turnovers in 12 of the last 15 games and in 17 of 22 on the year. In 11 games at Lloyd Noble Center, the Sooners own a 232-96 advantage in points off turnovers.

• Oklahoma became the first team this season to register more assists (16) than turnovers (13) against West Virginia.

• West Virginia's 52 points were 25 below its season average and 34 fewer than it scored against Oklahoma in Morgantown three weeks ago. The Sooners have held 19 of 22 opponents below their season average in points (at the time of competition).

• OU held WVU to 34.4 percent field goal and 19.2 percent (5 for 26) 3-point shooting. It was the 15th time in 22 games this year that the Sooners have held their opponent to sub-40-percent shooting.

• OU junior guard Buddy Hield scored a game-high 21 points with the help of 5-for-7 3-point shooting. Hield, who has led the Sooners in scoring in seven of the last nine games, is now shooting 55.1 percent from 3-point range at home this season (38 for 69). He has scored at least 20 points in six of OU's 10 conference games.

• Sophomore point guard Jordan Woodard scored in double figures for the fifth time in the last six games. He finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

• Reigning Big 12 Player of the Week Ryan Spangler scored in double figures for the seventh straight game after being held to single digits in each of the previous four outings. The junior forward tallied 10 points tonight (all in first half) and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Spangler, who was 4 for 4 from the field, has led OU in rebounding 14 of 22 outings.

• Junior guard Isaiah Cousins contributed 10 points, 3 assists and 2 steals without committing a turnover in 31 minutes.

• Senior forward TaShawn Thomas, who scored 7 points, matched a season high with 5 assists and also blocked 3 shots. He also registered 5 assists against West Virginia three weeks ago.

• OU is now 6-3 all-time against West Virginia (3-0 in Norman).

• The Sooners hit the road Saturday for a 2 p.m. game at TCU (televised by ESPNEWS).
