NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team notched its seventh consecutive week at No. 1 on Monday and its first No. 1 ranking of the season under regional qualifying scores (RQS).

RQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. RQS scores are used to determine seeding for regional competition at six campus sites in April.

Oklahoma is ranked No.1 in the nation on three of four individual events as well, pulling down the top spot on bars (49.440), beam (49.335) and floor (49.350). OU is also ranked second nationally on vault (49.475).

The Sooners continue to dominate in the individual rankings this week with a nation-leading 17 appearances from nine gymnasts on the four events.

Oklahoma has at least four gymnasts ranked nationally as individuals on all four events. No other team in the nation has more than three on any single apparatus.

Sophomores Chayse Capps and McKenzie Wofford are each ranked No.1 in the nation as individuals this week to pace the Sooners. Capps owns solo possession of the No. 1 ranking on balance beam with an RQS of 9.915 and is also ninth in the country on vault (9.910).

Wofford is tied for first nationally on uneven bars with an RQS of 9.940. She has won the uneven bars title in five consecutive meets and has scored a 9.950 or better in three of Oklahoma's last four contests.

Junior Haley Scaman continued her standout run in the rankings this week as well, pulling down top-10 appearances on every event she competes. Scaman is third in the nation on both vault (9.930) and floor (9.925) and is also eighth nationally on bars (9.885).

True freshman Brenna Dowell captured a pair of top-10 appearances this week, tying for sixth nationally on bars (9.890) and eighth on floor (9.915). Dowell remains one of only two gymnasts in the nation to post a perfect 10.0 on bars this season and is also tied for 20th in the country on vault (9.880).

OU continues to count on sophomore Kara Lovan's steadiness and her appearances in the rankings reflect her efforts. Lovan is tied for seventh in the nation on beam (9.875) and 11th on floor (9.895). Junior Keeley Kmieciak provides a similar boost in the bars lineup, appearing at a tie for No. 9 in the nation (9.880).

Seniors Erica Brewer and Rebecca Clark also earned spots in the rankings this week. Brewer slotted in at a tie for 17th on bars (9.865) and 20th on beam (9.850), while Clark is tied for 16th on beam (9.855).

True freshman Ali Jackson rounded out Oklahoma's appearances, tying with classmate Dowell for 20th on vault (9.880) and adding an appearance on floor with a tie for 17th (9.885).

OU will cap a month-long road stand this weekend at Illinois on Friday, Feb. 27. The meet is set for a 7 p.m. CT start and will broadcast on BTN2Go.com

The Sooners will return to Norman on March 6 to face defending NCAA co-champion and second-ranked Florida at the Lloyd Noble Center. The meet is slated for a 6:45 p.m. start.
