  • Seventeen combined strikeouts by the Sooner pitching staff is the most since 18 against Texas Tech (4/3/11). Burch Smith struck out 12 Red Raiders in that game.
  • Sooner head coach Pete Hughes was ejected in the seventh inning. Following a pitching change, OSU head coach Pat Casey challenged that Hughes made a second visit to the mound and the umpires ruled in favor that OU lefty Jacob Evans needed to come out of the game.
