WHAT'S ON TAP

Oklahoma women's basketball travels to Manhattan, Kan., for a game against Kansas State Saturday. The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. and will be televised on Cox Cable and Time Warner Sports Channel. The Sooners enter into the game in second place in the Big 12 standings at 10-4. The Wildcats are one of three teams tied for seventh in the league standings at 5-9.

A LOOK AT THE BIG 12 SEASON

• Oklahoma has opened the Big 12 with a 10-4 record. The Sooners won their first seven league games before being dealt a loss. OU's first loss in leauge play came on Jan. 29 when it fell in double-overtime to 13th-ranked Texas 84-81. The Sooners lost a second-straight - a 79-68 setback at West Virginia, Feb. 1 - but bounced back Feb. 4 with a 9-point win over Iowa State.
• In winning their first seven Big 12 games, the Sooners had to defeat two then-ranked opponents. OU upset then-fourth ranked Texas 70-59 at the Lloyd Noble Center, Jan. 14 and defeated then-20th ranked Oklahoma State, 73-54, Jan. 19.
• All but three of Oklahoma's Big 12 victories have been by double-figure points. The three single-digit Big 12 wins this season were a 70-64 victory over Texas Tech, Jan. 24, a 75-66 win over Iowa State, Feb. 4 and a 66-58 win over K-State, Feb. 7.
• The Sooners are a perfect 7-0 in league when playing at the Lloyd Noble Center and are 3-4 when playing on the road.
• Oklahoma was dealt its largest deficit of the season Feb. 11. The Sooners fell 89-66 to No. 3 Baylor. Their largest deficit prior to their 23-point loss was 20 to then No. 13 Duke, Dec. 17.

OVERTIME

The Oklahoma women's basketball team played in its fourth overtime of the season Tuesday. The most recent overtime game for the Sooners ended in an 84-76 setback at Iowa State. OU is now 1-3 this season when its games go into overtime. The Sooners dropped a 92-88 decision to Kentucky Nov. 28, defeated Illinois 78-76 in overtime, Nov. 29 and fell 84-81 in double-overtime at Texas, Jan. 29. OU has played in four OT games in a season one other time in school history; the 2009-10 campaign. It won all four games.

Oklahoma sank 14 3-pointers - including eight in the second half - in its overtime loss at Iowa State, Feb. 17. The 14 3-pointers is a season-high and the most since the Sooners hit 17 against Oregon Nov. 24, 2012. The Sooners have now hit double-figure 3-pointers in five games this season: 11 versus Lamar (Nov. 18), 10 versus South Florida (Nov. 27), 13 against Duke (Dec. 17) , and 11 against Baylor. In the loss to the Cyclones, Sharane Campbell-Olds drained a career-tying high five 3-pointers, while sophomore Peyton Little chipped in four. Little has hit 14 3-pointers over the past three games: 5 at Baylor (Feb. 11), 5 vs. TCU (Feb. 14) and 4 at Iowa State (2/17).

TWENTY

Oklahoma was credited with 20 assists on 25 baskets in its overtime loss at Iowa State, Feb. 17. The Sooners registered assists on their first eight buckets of the contest. It is the fifth game this season Oklahoma has passed out 20-plus assists and second-straight. OU is ranked 63rd in the nation in assists per game at 14.9.

ACADEMIC ALL-BIG 12

Four University of Oklahoma women's basketball players were named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, the conference office announced Thursday.  Senior Sharane Campbell-Olds, junior Nicole Kornet, redshirt sophomore Maddie Manning and sophomore Derica Wyatt each represented Oklahoma on the 26-member first team.  The Sooners added three student-athletes to the second team for a total of seven OU athletes recognized. Earning a spot on the second team was sophomore T'ona Edwards, redshirt sophomore Peyton Little and senior Whitney Ritchie. A total of 40 student-athletes made up the Academic Big 12 Team, with 26 on the first team and 16 on the second. Texas led all teams with eight total honorees, while Oklahoma was second with its seven.

PREVIEWING KANSAS STATE

Kansas State enters into its game with Oklahoma holding a 15-10 overall record and a 5-9 mark in Big 12 play. K-State is tied for seventh in the Big 12 with both Texas Tech and West Virginia. The Wildcats have lost two-straight, including a 74-68 overtime loss against Texas Tech, Feb. 15, and a 76-58 setback at Texas, Feb. 18. Kansas State is led by Breanna Lewis' 12.2 points per contest. Lewis is also chipping in 6.1 rebounds per game and has blocked a team-best 80 shots. Ashia Woods is adding 9.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest. The Wildcats are coached by Jeff Mittie, in his first year at the helm. Kansas State was picked to place ninth in the Big 12 in 2014-15.

What the Wildcats returned: Kansas State returned 10 letterwinners, including two starters, from its squad that finished 11-19 overall and 5-13 in the Big 12 last season. The Wildcats' top returnees are seniors Ashia Woods and Haley Texada. Woods averaged 10.1points per game as a junior, while Texada chipped in 7.5 points per contest in 2013-14.

OKLAHOMA-KANSAS STATE SERIES

Oklahoma leads the all-time series with Iowa State 35-23. The Sooners defeated the Wildcats 66-58 in their first meeting this season and split the series a season ago. When the Wildcats defeated the Sooners (86-78) in Manhattan on Jan. 29, 2014 it snapped a 14-game losing skid to OU that dated back 10 years. Oklahoma had not lost to Kansas State since Jan. 31, 2004 when it dropped a 74-65 decision, also in Manhattan, Kan.
