WEDNESDAY'S GAME BASICS

No. 21/22 Oklahoma (5-1) returns to the Lloyd Noble Center for its first home game in 13 days when it hosts Little Rock (2-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT. The Sooners are coming off a 2-0 finish at the Junkanoo Jam, winning the Reef Division title. OU has also won four straight games by an average of 22.3 points. Little Rock enters the game with a 2-2 record after defeating Memphis, 61-53, last Friday.

ON THE AIR

Wednesday's contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network with Brian Brinkley calling the action. The game will be televised by Sooner Sports TV on Fox Sports Oklahoma +/Fox Sports Southwest + with Bob Carpenter and Brenda VanLengen announcing.

TICKETS

Tickets are available starting at $8 at the OU Athletics Ticket Office (800-456-4668) and online here. Lloyd Noble Center's north and east ticket windows will open at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. OU students will be admitted free with a valid school I.D.


FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• Oklahoma enters Wednesday's matchup ranked second in the Big 12 in 3-pointers made per game (7.7). Peyton Little leads the conference with 2.8 3-pointers per game this season and is shooting .405 from behind the arc, while Maddie Manning ranks 11th in the conference with a .429 3-point shooting percentage.

• Little ranks eighth in scoring (15.8), ninth in steals per game (1.8) and 15th in assists per game (3.3). The redshirt junior has scored in double figures 28 times as a Sooner and hit at least one 3-pointer in 11 straight games dating back to last season. Little has also become one of OU's top distributors, recording 11 assists in the last two games.

Peyton Little

Peyton Little won Reef Division MVP honors at the Junkanoo Jam, averaging 15.5 ppg and 5.5 apg for the Sooners.

• Redshirt senior forward Kaylon Williams is OU's second leading scorer (12.3 ppg) and leads the squad in rebounds per game (7.0). She has scored in double figures 12 times in the last 13 games for the Sooners dating back to last season. Williams is 16 of 21 (.762) from the field in OU's last three games and earned all-tournament team honors at the Junkanoo Jam.

• Sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis continues to be a force for the Sooners off the bench and is tied for the lead in the Big 12 with a .704 shooting percentage (19 of 27). Pierre-Louis was named to the all-tournament team at the Junkanoo Jam and tied career-highs with 15 points and nine rebounds against Boston College last Saturday.

• The Sooners' defense has been stout early in the season, holding opponents to 53.0 points per game, .368 shooting percentage and .313 3-point shooting percentage. OU has held opponents to 50 points or less in four of six games this year.


GAME SIX RECAP: BOSTON COLLEGE

• No. 21 Oklahoma women's basketball picked up its fourth straight victory and scored 29 points in the fourth quarter on Saturday to defeat Boston College, 76-61, in the final game of the 2015 Junkanoo Jam in Freeport, Bahamas. The Sooners tied a season-high with 29 points in the fourth quarter as four players finished in double figures. Redshirt junior guard Peyton Little scored a game-high 17 points and finished with five assists to lead the Sooners, earning Reef Division MVP honors.

• Sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half and recorded a team-high nine rebounds to earn all-tournament honors along with senior forward Kaylon Williams, who added in 13 points on 6 of 7 shooting. Williams also corralled eight rebounds and two steals. Gabbi Ortiz recorded 10 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Sooners.

• The Sooners outscored BC in the paint, 34-12, and finished with 22 points off of 17 BC turnovers. OU also hit a season-high 24 free throws on 34 attempts. The Sooners finished the game outrebounding BC, 38-29 and tallied 21 assists in the win

PREVIEWING LITTLE ROCK

• Sun Belt member Little Rock improved to 2-2 on the year after Friday's 61-53 win over Memphis. The Trojans are averaging 57.8 points per game and shooting .399 from the field, .344 from deep and .621 at the free throw line. Little Rock has made seven postseason appearances in the last eight seasons with four berths in the NCAA Tournament.

• Senior forward Shanity Jones leads the Trojans and ranks second in the Sun Belt with 18.3 points per game. She's also the team leader with 7.5 rebounds per contest. Entering the season, Jones ranked in the top 10 of 11 different categories in the Little Rock record book including fourth in free throw attmpts, sixth in rebounds and seventh in blocked shots.

• Alexius Dawn and Monique Townson are both averaging 7.5 points per game for the Trojans. Townson averages a team-high 34.5 minutes per game and leads Little Rock with 4.0 assists per game. Dawn is second on the squad with 2.8 assists per game.

• OU's comeback bid fell short in Little Rock last season, falling to the Trojans, 66-62, at the Jack Stephens Center. Little Rock jumped out to a 14-point halftime advantage after shooting 76.0 percent (19 of 25) in the opening half. The loss snapped OU's four-game winning streak against Little Rock.


QUICK HITTERS

• Junior guard T'ona Edwards tied a career-high with eight assists against Boston College last Saturday in the Junkanoo Jam. Edwards leads the Sooners and is eighth in the conference with 4.0 assists per game.

• Redshirt junior Maddie Manning played a career-high 35 minutes against Utah, finishing with a career-high six assists. She is second on the team with 3.5 assists per game. Manning made her first start since the 2012 season (at Hawai'i), starting OU's home opener against Winthrop on Nov. 13.

• Sophomore center Vionise Pierre-Louis finished with 15 points and nine rebounds against Boston College, tying her career high in both categories. She is tied for the lead in the Big 12 with a .704 shooting percentage. She's also made a huge improvement at the free throw, ranking 15th in the league with a .722 free throw percentage. As a freshman, Pierre-Louis shot .522 from the charity stripe. The Lake Worth, Fla., native tied her career-high with four blocks at Bradley on Nov 22. OU set a season-high with seven blocks, its most in a single game since last year's 104-55 win over Bradley in Norman.

• Head coach Sherri Coale won her 425th game at Oklahoma with the Sooners' 76-61 victory over Boston College.

 

• In their six wins this season, the Sooners have held both opponents to 50 points or less in four games (Utah - 50; Winthrop - 48; BYU 47; Bradley 46).

• OU held an opponent to under 25 points or fewer in a half for the fifth time this season in Thursday's game versus Utah. The Utes scored just 23 points in the second half last Thursday. The Sooners also held Bradley to 21 points in the first half on Nov. 22 and BYU to 25 and 22 points, respectively, on Nov. 19.

• OU is 30-8 all-time against current members of the Sun Belt Conference.

• A win Wednesday night would mark Oklahoma's 750th all-time victory in program history.

• Oklahoma began the year ranked No. 17 in the AP and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches top 25 preseason polls. OU has appeared in the top 25 of both preseason polls to begin the year 15 times in the last 16 seasons.

The Sooners travel to Seattle, Wash., to face Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on the Pac 12 Network.
