NORMAN — The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is inviting fans to attend a pair of open practices this fall, with the first scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17. The practice will run from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. CT at the Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center in Norman and is free and open to the public.
Fans in attendance will be able to get the first look at the Sooners as they prepare for the 2016 season. Team members will be training skills and choreography on all four events during the practice. Fans are welcome to come and go as their schedules permit.
In addition to coming and watching the team, fans are invited to get autographs and visit with student-athletes after practice. Free team photos and schedule fliers will be available to fans in attendance, and those interested in signing up to watch the team in action will be able to fill out season ticket order forms.
The second open practice date is slated for Nov. 14 and will also run from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Additionally, the Sooners will hold their free annual intrasquad on Friday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
The Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center is located north of the Lloyd Noble Center by the intersection of S. Jenkins Ave. and Imhoff Ave. Parking is available behind the gym (accessible via Asp Ave.), or across the street at the Lloyd Noble Center.
