OU UNDEFEATED IN BIG 12 ACTION

STARS EMERGE IN BIG 12 PLAY:

Gioya Carter BREAKS OUT: Sophomore guard Gioya Carter has emerged as a star in Big 12 play. Carter, who averaged only 6.3 points a game in pre-conference play, is leading Oklahoma in league action, averaging an impressive 17.3 points per contest. She has registered double-figure games in five of the six conference contests, and reached her career-high in points twice. Carter scored a career-high 24 points against West Virginia, Jan. 4 and tallied 24 at TCU, Jan. 17. She is also one of three Sooners shooting over 50.0 percent in Big 12 play (54.4 percent).

Kaylon Williams ON FIRE: Kaylon Williams is shooting a blazing 64.0 percent from the field in Big 12 action, sinking a league-best 32-of-50. She has registered double-doubles in two of the six league games and hit double-figure points in all but two. In the Sooners win at TCU, Williams scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds.

Peyton Little FINDING HER GROOVE: Redshirt sophomore Peyton Little has become more consistent in Big 12 play. The guard has scored double-figure points in four of six league games, leads the team in steals with 13 and is fourth in rebounds per game at 4.5. TWO

Oklahoma has had two players earn Big 12 Conference weekly honors this season. Sophomore Gioya Carter earned her first Big 12 accolade the week of Jan. 5 when she was tabbed the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week. Carter averaged a team-best 20.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in Oklahoma's wins over Yale and RV/21 West Virginia. Most recently freshman point guard Gabbi Ortiz was tabbed the Big 12 Freshman of the Week, Jan. 19. Ortiz helped Oklahoma to wins over No. 4 Texas and at TCU with averages of 10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals. The Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor is the first of Ortiz's career.

SEVEN

Oklahoma has had many breakout stars since its current 7-game winning streak started Dec. 30. One of those stars is redshirt sophomore Maddie Manning. The lengthy guard - who stands at 6-2 - has not only contributed big minutes and points but blocked a big number of shots. Manning has blocked seven shots in Big 12 play; a team-high in league games only. She had two blocks against both Texas Tech and TCU and most recently blocked a career-high three shots in the Sooners win over Oklahoma State, Jan. 19.

PLAYER TOGETHER AGAIN

Oklahoma freshman LaNesia Williams and sophomore T'ona Edwards are once again playing together on the hardwood. Williams and Edwards stared together at Northwest Academy in Oklahoma City. The two helped Northwest Academy win the 2013 state championship and go undefeated at 30-0. Edwards averaged 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in 2013 and was tabbed the Oklahoman's Little All-City Girls' Basketball Player of the Year. Williams averaged 15.8 in 2013 - when she was a junior - and was named to the All-State Small West, Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association Team.
