Volleyball Promotional Schedule Released

NORMAN, Okla. - The first home match of the 2014 University of Oklahoma volleyball season is a week away and with that comes the team's promotional schedule for matches at McCasland Field House. The Sooners are pleased to offer a 13-match home slate that includes eight Big 12 matches and is accompanied by various giveaways, fan contests, autograph sessions and more.

Home Opener

The home season opener will kick off with Student Appreciation Night on September 10 as Cal State Northridge visits for the NIKE Invitational. The first 200 students in attendance will receive an OU Volleyball Tumbler Cup and students will also have the opportunity to serve for different prizes during match break. Free Sno cones will be available for all fans for an hour leading up to the match in front of McCasland Fieldhouse.

Football Friday

On Friday, September 12 those who hold a ticket to the football game against Tennessee will receive $4 admission and will automatically be entered for a chance to win a football pregame experience that includes on-field access until the team takes the field for kickoff. It will also be Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night as all Season Ticket Holders will be provided a pregame meal before the Sooners take on Portland State.

Military Appreciation

The Sooners will honor those who serve and protect our country on Wednesday, October 15 for Military Appreciation Day. All veterans or active duty service men and women can receive $4 admission for themselves and family members.

Pledge for a Cure

The annual “Pledge for a Cure” match will take place on Wednesday, November 11 as Oklahoma hosts Iowa State. Awareness and funds will be raised throughout the night and will go to the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the OU Children's Hospital. More details for the Pledge for the Cure Event will follow in the coming weeks.

Fill the Field House

The Sooners will take on 2013 Final Four participant Texas on Saturday, November 15 and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt. Last season, Oklahoma played in front of the second largest crowd for a volleyball match in McCasland's history when 2,128 fans showed up in support of the Sooners.

Fan Appreciation

Two matches on the schedule will be fan appreciation matches as all fans will receive free admission. The final match of the Nike Invitational on Saturday, September 13 as the Sooners host Lamar and also on Saturday, October 18 vs. Baylor. All fans in attendance at both matches will have the opportunity to enter-to-win for a football pregame VIP experience.

FREE Youth Clinic

This season youth teams 8^th grade and under can win a free volleyball clinic courtesy of the OU Volleyball team by entering the Youth Team Challenge. The youth team that brings the most people to their specific game throughout the entire season will win the free clinic.
