NORMAN, Okla. - Following a season where the Sooners set a record for average home attendance, the Oklahoma volleyball team spent part of its Sunday afternoon personally delivering season tickets to the homes of fans in the Norman area. The team arrived at McCasland Field House in the early afternoon and set out in groups along with head coach Santiago Restrepo to meet season ticket holders in person.
Season tickets for the Sooners 13-game home slate at McCasland went on sale July 7. For the first time, reserved seat season ticket holders receive the prime seats in the field house in the chair back section at mid-court across from the scorer's table.
"It's an appreciation that we have for all of our fans," said Restrepo, who took to the neighborhoods surrounding campus with Kaitlyn Drawe, Julia Doyle and Madison Ward. "It's a way to give back to them and say, 'hey you guys are very special and very important to our home court advantage and we love everything they do for us'."
The first chance to see the Sooners in action comes when Oklahoma hosts its annual Crimson & Cream Match at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 23. Admission to the contest is FREE. Fans can stay after the match for free pizza and soft drinks at the conclusion of play.
Tickets can be purchased online HERE or by calling the OU ticket office at (405) 325-2424 or toll free at (800) 456-GoOU. Single match tickets will go on sale August 20.
