NORMAN, Okla. -- Qualifiers for the second and final day of the Winter Cup were released Friday morning. Eight Sooners, including five current members of the team and three former members, punched their tickets to compete Saturday in Las Vegas.
Juniors
Danny Berardini,
Alec Robin and
Michael Squires along with freshmen
Allan Bower and
Colin Van Wicklen will all represent Oklahoma gymnastics in a meet that will help determine future U.S. Senior National Team membership.
Current National Team members and OU alumni
Chris Brooks, Jake Dalton and Steve Legendre also will compete on Saturday.
Following the event's second day, scores from both days will be added together to determine the all-around and individual event winners, in addition to helping determine the 15 men who will comprise the Senior National Team through next August. Due to their participation at the 2013 World Championships, Dalton and Legendre have already qualified along with six other World Championships teammates, leaving seven remaining openings.
Regardless, OU's five current members of the team competing on Saturday will represent the most of any school in the country. Illinois, Ohio State and Stanford all come in second with three representatives apiece.
The final day of competition begins at 9 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 22, and fans can watch it live at
