NORMAN, Okla. -- Riding the momentum of their Bedlam victory, the Sooners host No. 9 Baylor for ESPN2's Big Monday on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center.
It's the first meeting between the Big 12's most decorated teams this season as the conference's top two active career scoring leaders -- Oklahoma's Aaryn Ellenberg and Baylor's Odyssey Sims -- face each other for the first time since leading Team USA to a gold medal in last summer's World University Games.
The game will be televised nationwide on ESPN2 with Beth Mowins and Kara Lawson.
What to Watch
• Oklahoma has lost six straight to Baylor, its longest such streak in the all-time series. OU last defeated Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament on March 12, 2010 (59-54). OU beat its highest ranked opponent of the season in its last game, then-No. 11 Oklahoma State (81-74).
• Baylor's Odyssey Sims leads the nation in scoring, averaging 30.2 points. Oklahoma's roster has four of the Big 12's top 20 conference-game scorers (Ellenberg, Campbell, Hook, Griffin).
• In Big 12 games, the league's top 10 individual scorers are representatives of all 10 teams. Oklahoma has the best chance at bucking that trend with Sharane Campbell (12.6 points) at No. 11.
• In her last game, Oklahoma's Aaryn Ellenberg became the Sooners' third leading career scorer and the Big 12 Conference 10th all-time. Ellenberg trails Phylesha Whaley (2,187 points; 1997-2000) by 38 points.
• Sharane Campbell needs 55 points to become Oklahoma's 30th player to reach 1,000 points scored in a career. If she reaches the benchmark this season, it will be just the second time (2010) that the Sooners have had three players cross 1,000 in the same season. It will also be the first time that OU has had four 1,000-point scorers in the same lineup (Ellenberg, Hook, Griffin).
• Three overtime games is the most OU has had in a single season since 2009-10 when the Sooners had four, and won all four. OU had a string of six consecutive overtime game wins until the three losses this season. Overall in overtime, Oklahoma is 16-17 and 12-8 under Sherri Coale.
• Oklahoma was voted the Big 12's preseason favorite, earning five of 10 first-place votes by coaches. Aaryn Ellenberg was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team and is on watch lists for the Wade, Wooden and Naismith Awards.
