Sharane Campbell-Olds // Sr. // G

Sharane Campbell-Olds averaged 17.7 points on 60.0 percent shooting and 6.0 rebounds in Oklahoma's three games at the Paradise Jam. She scored a team-high 16 points in the Sooners opening setback to USF. She also two rebounds, one assist and one steal in the loss. Campbell-Olds followed that performance up by tallying a team-high 23 points, along with six boards, three assists and three steals in OU's 4-point overtime loss to No. 9/10 Kentucky. She closed out the week registering her second double-double of the season, with 14 points and 10 boards in the Sooners two-point overtime victory against Illinois. The guard also hit the free throw to tie the game and send it into overtime and sank the two winning free throws in overtime. She was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team.

Oklahoma plays its fifth-straight game away from the Lloyd Noble Center when it travels to Arkansas for a game against Arkansas-Little Rock, Sunday, Dec. 14. The game is set for 4 p.m. CT. 

SOONERS VISIT MEAN GREEN SUNDAY
Oklahoma hits the road for Texas and a contest against the University of North Texas Sunday. The Sooners enter into the contest with a 4-2 record, while the Mean Green are looking for their first victory after starting the season 0-5. The contest will be televised on FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Oklahoma with Tom Werme and Steffi Sorenesen on the call.     

TWO

Oklahoma women's basketball has played in two-straight overtime contests; falling 92-88 in overtime to then-No. 9/10 Kentucky, Nov. 28 and defeating Illinois 78-76 in overtime, Nov. 29.

The Sooners have played back-to-back overtime contests three other times during Coach Coale's tenure.

SEVEN

The Oklahoma Sooners are in the midst of a seven-game roadswing. OU last played at home Nov. 21 and will not return to the friendly confines of the Lloyd Noble Center until Dec. 30 when it hosts Yale.

The longest stretch away from the Lloyd Noble Center prior to this season was six games during the 2006-07 season. That year, the Sooners didn't play at home from Nov. 13 until Dec. 10. They finished that stretch a perfect 6-0.

OU is currently 1-2 in this seven-game stretch.

EIGHTH

Oklahoma is currently ranked eighth in the nation in scoring offense - and second in the Big 12 - averaging 88.0 points per game.

The Sooners are also 13th in the nation in field goal percentage, hitting 48.6 percent of their shots, and 16th in assists per game at 18.3. Finally they are 22nd in three-point field goals per game, sinking 8.5.

Individually, senior Sharane Campbell-Olds has the 17th best field goal percentage in the nation at 63.0.

NINTH

Gabbi Ortiz is the ninth true freshman to start the season opener under Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale. She's just the second point guard, along with Stacey Dales.

TWENTY EIGHT

Oklahoma recorded 28 assists on 41 baskets in its 100-73 win over Lamar, Nov. 18. The 28 team assists were the most assists passed out in a game since the Sooners also had 28 in their victory over Cal State Bakersfield, Dec. 12, 2008.

Oklahoma followed the performance up passing out 25 assists in its 104-55 victory over Bradley, Nov. 21.

The Sooners have recorded back-to-back 20-assist contests one other time since the 2009-10 season. It came last season versus UT Arlington (22) and UCLA (21).

OU is averaging 18.3 assists per game this season. It ended 2013-14 averaging 14.1

THIRTY FOUR.EIGHT

The Oklahoma bench is averaging 34.8 points per game for the Sooners. In its 100-73 victory over Lamar, Nov. 18, the bench contributed a season-best 56 points; including a 13 from freshman LaNesia Williams and a season-high 12 from Derica Wyatt, who drained four 3-pointers. In their three games at the Paradise Jam, the Sooners received 26.6 points per game from the bench.

The Oklahoma bench averaged 22.5 points a game in non-conference a season ago and contributed 16.3 points a game during Big 12 contests.

PREVIEWING NORTH TEXAS

North Texas enters into its game with Oklahoma looking for its first victory of the season. The Mean Green have opened the 2014-15 campaign 0-5, including a 59-57 overtime loss to Eastern Illinois Nov. 23 and a seven-point setback (62-55) at SMU, Wednesday night. North Texas has two players averaging double-figure points, including Briesha Wynn is who leading the team in points (14.4) and rebounds per game (8.6). Also averaging double-digits is Eboniey Jeter at 10.0.

Mike Petersen is in his third season in command of the Mean Green women's basketball program.

OKLAHOMA-NORTH TEXAS SERIES

The will be the 23rd meeting between Oklahoma and North Texas, with the Sooners holding the 20-2 lead in the all-time series. OU has won the last 10 contests. The last time the two teams met on the hardwood was Dec. 6, 2012 in Norman with Oklahoma earning the 71-68 victory. The last time the game was played in Denton, Texas was Nov. 26, 1994. The Sooners won 84-74. Both losses to the Mean Green came in Denton though; an 80-62 setback in the opening game of the series Feb. 2, 1979 and a 91-85 loss Nov. 30, 1989.  

THREE NEWCOMERS IN LINEUP

Sixty-percent of the Oklahoma Sooners starters are new to the squad, with two being freshmen and one a transfer. Freshman point guard Gabbi Ortiz and Texas A&M transfer Peyton Little has started all six games for the Sooners this season, while freshman guard LaNesia Williams cracked the starting lineup against Kentucky, Nov. 28 and has now started two-straight. The last time the Sooners started three newcomers together was during the 2003-04 season when three freshman - Leah Rush, Erin Higgins and Britney Brown were in the starting lineup for one game together.  That game came in a 74-65 setback to Kansas State, Jan. 31, 2004.

FREE THROW LINE

The University of Oklahoma is struggling from the free throw line. The Sooners are only shooting 54.7 percent (75-of-137) from the charity stripe - currently ranked 339th in the NCAA. OU's opponent on Sunday - North Texas - is also struggling from the free throw line, sinking 45.1 percent (46-of-102), which is 343rd in the nation. The Sooners ended the 2013-14 season as the 31st best free throw shooting team, hitting 74.8 (592-791) percent from the stripe. 

DOUBLE-DOUBLES

Senior Sharane Campbell-Olds and redshirt junior Kaylon Williams each posted a double-double in Oklahoma's 90-80 opening-game victory over Washington. Campbell-Olds scored a team-high 26 points - two shy of tying her career-high - and grabbed a game-high 11 boards. Williams posted a career-high 23 points and brought down 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Campbell-Olds again registered a double-double against Illinois, Nov. 29. She scored 14 points and had 10 boards. She was joined in the double-double club by freshman Gabbi Ortiz who scored 15 points and had 12 rebounds - both team-highs - for her first collegiate double-double.

The last time the Sooners had two players record double-doubles in the same game was Feb. 10, 2013 when Campbell-Olds posted 15 points and career-high 12 rebounds and Joanna McFarland had 10 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Oklahoma State.
