OU-Washington Postgame Quotes

December 20, 2014 | Men's Basketball

Return to Recap

OU Head Coach Lon Kruger
Opening comment:
“We dug ourselves a big hole. Credit Washington. Good play out of Washington, but the last five minutes of the first half we turned the momentum a little bit and then played much better in the second half. There's a lot to be learned on both ends. Poor first 15 and better last 25.”

On what allowed Oklahoma to create a run at the end:
“The second half, credit a little bit more from our defense. We had some steals and created some offense from that. On the offensive end we had a little bit more going downhill toward the rim and guys, I thought, made more plays as a result for each other and also shot it better.”

On being back in Las Vegas:
“Great. It's always good to be back. I loved living here and I love the people here. It's always good to be back.”

On the MGM Grand Showcase event:
“The event is great. I thought BD Global, the organizer of the event, and MGM was fantastic. It was a great experience for our players, and also on the court we will gain a lot from playing against a very good Washington club.”

Junior Forward Ryan Spangler
On getting into a rhythm in the second half:
“We see one bucket go in and we're going to start playing good. I don't think we played good in the first half, but the second half we got our rhythm and kind of did what we wanted.”

On what makes Washington good:
“They've got a pretty good balance of everything. They've got guys who can shoot the ball, they've got guys who can drive, they've got big guys, and I think they're really good at picking who they give the ball to. They have a lot of pieces.”
