MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- Oklahoma (11-7, 2-3 Big 12) fought back from a 17-point deficit, but ran out of gas as West Virginia (16-2, 5-1) held off the Sooners during a 77-63 loss Saturday at WVU Coliseum.
Bria Holmes' 3-pointer eight minutes into the game gave West Virginia at 25-8 lead as the Mountaineers started the game 7-for-9 from the field.
Aaryn Ellenberg scored 17 of her 28 points in the first half as the Sooners closed within 5 and trailed 39-31 at halftime.
OU tied the game 53-53 with 11 minutes to play, but made just three of its next 20 field goal attempts while West Virginia added on with a 10-0 run.
