NORMAN, Okla.?- University of Oklahoma gymnast Alec Robin took second in the all-around in leading Team USA to the gold medal at the Maccabiah Games in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Tuesday.

Robin, a junior on the Sooner men's team and a three-time All-American at OU, recorded an all-around score of 80.8 to finish tops among all American competitors and second overall behind Israel's Felix Aronovich, a 2012 Olympian, who scored 84.75.

"It was an unreal experience to get the opportunity to compete in our Jewish homeland," Robin said. "I'm so proud of my team for pushing through this competition."

Fighting off a nagging shoulder injury, Robin led Team USA to the victory over the Israeli National Team behind a first-place overall finish on high bar and second-place finishes on pommel horse and vault.?

On high bar, Robin scored a 14.35, well above Aronovich's mark of 13.75, to earn the individual title. Robin's scores of 13.4 on pommel and 14.5 on vault were also Team USA bests.
